I know that some of the current JB roms have the mobile hotspot mod baked in, but this is not the case with all of them, including the one I am currently running. I tried several thing, and could not find a viable solution, until i did a little looking around at xda. I found a post by TrevE, who build a modified WIFI Tether for Root Users. Works great on Rootuser94's Hyperdrive rom, and is reportedly working on many others. I am using the WifiTether-TrevE_Mod_11_22_2012_driverReload2 version with default settings, except I added encryption. Very nice work done blind by the dev.
