Glad it all went OK, sorry to hear about the min-stroke and minor complications afterward, though.

Get better soon, you've had enough to deal with for this lifetime already!

I am glad the operation was successful and you are home. You have been through a lot of late. Enjoy being home and rest.

Appetite has not really recovered and know I need to pick up on the nourishment (and things can get more 'regular') so when my lower denture broke in half today it's tossed me another curve ball.

Two Doc follow up visits tomorrow but maybe I can sneak into the Denture overhaul place, too.

Schedule conflict between Doc #1 & the Denture folks yesterday but got the toofies going today, $180 to repair them (better than $350 for new).

Also, the zipper is gone - replaced by stick-on paper stitches of some kind.

Energy level still low, gotta get rid of the C-Diff bacteria, ($280 Rx, learned late that my new Prescription plan has a $400 Deductible - ouch on the budget!) - anxious for my appetite to return.

When I first sorted out how to fund the expensive un-insured prescription, I learned that my regular pharmacy wasn't on the list for that credit card company and had to have the Rx moved to an alternative, and dammit they had to order a new stock of that med, another day lost before re-suming the anti-diarrhea program. Can you relate to a raw butt-hole? But it has resumed beginning today.

Also, today ended with a repaired lower denture and I've polished off a Jersey Mike Pastrami with extra sauerkraut! Yummy!

More progress to come...

So ... progress continues ... till the power point (formerly a cigarette lighter) decided to blow (another) fuse.

Opened the lid on the fuse box under the hood, pulled the old fuse moved another Spare over and Viola the Aukey is back in business!  An hour later the dammity Buick wouldn't start. Tester showed full 12 volts at the Batt terminals, but it wouldn't take a jump start or anything.

This morning it took a ride on  a roll-back, hope to hear soon, another Dr. appt @ 2:45 today.

The fuse and the no start happen with the same vehicle (Buick)?

Yes ,same dammity Buick. They say there is a definite draw somewhere, but haven't found it yet. Used son-in-law's Camry today ... younger daughter-in law's Pontiac is also down for a new heater core and *might* be ready tonight, will need one of them for our first meeting with our new Oncologist tomorrow.

Sigh

Found the open in the Ignition Circuit #3 some where near the base of the steering column ...$225 including the roll-back ride.

Not sure when this budget will ever recover...a

Edit: After the Oncologist appt (went well. no plans for treatment at the moment, other than a follow-up CT scan of the lungs in 2 months) that same dammity Buick refused to start again! Another roll-back ride and for the rest of the day, it refused to *fail* to start! It's back home now ... hopefully to stay. No charge for the 2nd fun roll-back ride.

Vehicles seem to know just when to break down. Almost like the computers in them monitor your finances.

Neither wife nor step-son could start it in Park, but I could always do it by shifting to Neutral ... ended up with a loaner for the weekend. Did a grocery trip with it & couldn't figger out how to open the trunk to get the grub in, had to have a the dealer show us, groceries are now out of the back-seat!

The shop found one more suspicious part on the dammity Buick, a 'Park position' sensor or switch of some kind ... $230 parts&labor and should be ready today. I swear, I'm about done with this but have no budget at the moment for car-shopping!

The part that really sucks is that switch/sensor probably costs a couple bucks to make.

True, but might be a big chore to get to it to replace, guess I'll check how much for the labor when (IF!!) I pck it up.

Buick starts and is home!

Part was $93 (and as spaintersez, likely a few bucks to make), Labor - 15 man-hours of diagnosis ... $135, tax$5

Why is an audio clip auto-starting each time I open a tab on this site and how do I prevent it?

Edit: guess it quit by itself ... oh, well.

Think I had this in the past and something convinced me to delete it, but it's back now!

Thanx, kaos
