Having trouble getting it to flash, not sure if something is wrong with my updater script or anything....standby

I had to download this ROM 3 times before it flashed correctly.

i dirty flashed this rom over dst remix v3 mounted system flashed then wiped dalvic and it run great !

 

Not reccomended lol but sometime it works lol

You should only do this if your bootloader is unlocked.  if you have not done that i recommend looking into it.

Dont take this the wrong way, but why are you asking about flashing to the stock slot.  Since the bootloader is now unlocked there is no need to run safestrap anymore.

 

If you havent flashed anything since unlocking i would recommend booting into recovery, making a backup of your stock set up so you have it.  Then flash this.

 

Make sure your on 4.1.2 and rooted before you do it, but you should be set.

 

Download the 4.1.2 boot.img so you have it

download rom

boot into recovery

make backup onto SD card (external if available)

mount system

wipe wipe wipe everything (except internal/external SD)

go back and make sure system is mounted

flash 4.1.2 boot.img

check system mount 1 last time

flash rom

reboot...profit

I keep safestrap because it is nice being able to switch between roms without having to install/uninstall anything.

Thanks for the steps though, will take them into consideration should I ever rid safestrap.

if you want to switch back and forth between roms ,after they are set up make a backup and then when you want to switch you just restore your backups.   also roms are no longer going to be made the safestrap way so you may run into issues in the future

Okay, good to know, I am new to this, I basically only know how to do this with safestrap haha

Okay, so I know how to get into recovery, but how do you flash things once in recovery? Can someone explain, or link me please.

safestrap was very good and it was necessary then, but it is no longer needed. Please just make sure you read as much as possible before tinkering with your device! Just about any problem you may encounter somebody probably already had it so the answer is out there you just have to find it!

Thank you! This ROM is awesome. I installed the Bookmarks fix for the AOSP browser and I can't believe how much faster it is. I was reluctant to even upgrade from 3.0 to 3.1, but I'm glad I did! Smooth as ever!
