I'm not on any update, as I've never been able to get it to load once. I'm flashing the 3.0 full...

Do you have a lot of ROM Downloads still in your files or backups...?
This can cause or prevent New ROM flashes & Downloads...just another thought....

I download ROMs from a computer and transfer the zips to the phone via USB - saves a ton of time. I just re-downloaded 3.0 again to make sure I have a good copy and it is still not booting. Install says everything went fine... It feels like there's something obvious I'm missing if I'm not even seeing the boot animation.

Nope, I'm an idiot. I got ahead of myself and tried installing before the JB OTA. Will do this correctly and report back (with success?).

I am having an Issue. I loaded this into Rom slot 1 after creating a fresh slot. Wiped everything and fixed permissions as stated we should. I flashed the newest rom which I believe is 3.0 and also the patch. Now it loads past the boot screen with the electric however it stops and says there is a security failure. Something about unable to verify some cryptographic module?  anyone have ANY idea what this is all about? Only makes me re-boot after that getting the same response.  Any help would be great.

Ok, I been using this for a couple of days now, nice ROM. One bug I see is if you use hot plug as a profile in set cpu. EX: (when screen is off governor set to hotplug freq. Set to 300-800) the second core never wakes up. I verified it is this rom. If I switch to a different rom or go back to stock rom second core wakes up like it should.
Other then that, this rom is great. I would like to see a fix for it if possible.

So far loving thus ROM. One problem I'm hoping somebody can help with. Once I get the phone setup how I want it, ifiI reboot or save and reload later, a lot of my apps either take a while to show up or in some cases never show back up at all. They are missing from the home screen and the app drawer. I have 3.0 and the patch installed. Did all the required wipes. Tried in multiple slots. Any ideas?

Yeah unfortunately the boot loader isn't unlocked so switching between kernels isn't super easy and not really worth it since .16 is the newest and best anyway.

I know it was mentioned before that jelly bean ruined the volume skip mod but east2west just updated it to work with the official ota and I tried flashing on the 3.0.1 fj update and it's currently working. Just wanted to let you know in case you didn't already. I love fj and volume skip mod. Thanks for all your hard work

Switching kernels may be easier than you think.

Btw, I have .8 Christmas leak installed on the stock slot. I upgraded to the OTA .16 rom with by installing the rom on a slot and flashing the new kernel.

I have installed many different .16 ROMs.

I have no plans to update my stock side to .16 because I can always flash the .8 kernel and go back to the stock side if needed.

IMO, flashing the new ROM and upgrading/down grading the kernel is much easier than doing the OTA .16 upgrade.

Does anyone have tips on how to get this running on a phone without carrier service? I upgraded to the S4 earlier this week but wanted to keep the Razr for runs / the gym / miscellaneous stuff on wifi around the house.

When I boot up, the "Welcome" process gets stuck on the "Please wait, this may take a few minutes" message. I've let it run as long as 4 hours.

I can get into settings through the pulldown menu, connect to wifi, sign in to my google account, etc.

I've tried with mobile data toggled on / off, airplane mode on / off, old sim card in / out, etc. (Although probably not every possible combination of these.) Also tried downloading again, wiping the rom slot, reinstalling, etc.

Thanks.

PS - using Rom Slot 2 in SS 3.11. Stock side is OTA .16.

Hmmm, I know with the OG1 you can without being plugged in per say. With the 4g. I guessing here but I say no. I believe it registers/checks your sim card. You have to get a new sim card with every new phone or different phone last I knew. I can be completely wrong too on this. Just going by what I have experienced. You might have to activate it and flash/update then activate your new phone.

Thank you,
Claps1775

Yes you can bypass the welcome screen and use the phone without service. Touch each corner of the screen in a clockwise direction. starting at the w in welcome and touching just above the text at the bottom.
