Did you wipe /data after flashing? If you did, that's your problem. The launcher is in /data

Fixed it Thanks!

I *may* have found the solution, though I can't be 100% sure just yet. I set the ringtone, then booted into Recovery/Advanced and ran Fix Permissions. It seems to be stable once again, but won't know that for sure for another day or two.

Help me out here...

Isn't Media Storage a System Apk?   If its in the System why do you need to Fix permissions?

If so, settings, Sounds, Choose your Ringtone...than Reboot should acknowledge the change to your Chosen Ringtone...

Yes/No?

It is a system apk but the actual ringtones are stored in /system/media . I'm honestly not sure what the problem is the ringtones and why they disappear. It looks like this isn't the only ROM affected though.

Okay,

Just a guess, but I think when you changed your Path process into a Folder its possible it change your System to Recognizing the Media Storage for your Ringtones...

Whatever you changed its Defaulting your changes...Try to undo what you did and get it back to where it was before...

In Root Explorer, your process to Ringtones or Path is the same as mine but when I want to change a Ringtone...

I goto Settings...Sounds. Ringtones...Media Storage...Than gives me the same list of Ringtones as your process from System to Ringtones....

Its something you changed that Defaulted your Path to Keep the Ringtone of your choice...

Back step your process what you did to get it into your folder....Back to Ground Zero...

IMO my friend

I do the same thing to change mine.  It lists the stock ringtones, along with the one MP3 I copied into that folder.  If I change the ringtone to a 'stock' one, it works for a while, and then it is gone, just like the MP3.  Have to re-select it.

I just tried that, and am waiting to see if it sticks this time.  I will let you know.  Thanks everybody who has helped out!

Just my 2 cents; ringtone issues on stock ROM also. Seems to mostly disassociate ringtones after disconnecting from computer.

I haven't had any Issues with Media/Ringtones with any of the ROM's I've ever been on...

Plus I can't ever remember using my Computer to load and Ringtones or Wallpapers...Its always done on my phone...

Third Party Ringtones or Wallpapers could be unfriendly similar to Zedge...Great Choices but to many Blow outs...I stopped using it just for that reason...Ringtones wouldnt stix or it would Default back to its original settings

Quoting myself...

No go.  The ringtone was there when I went to sleep last night, and gone , ('unknown ringtone'), when I woke up this morning.  It was a 'stock' tone, not an MP3 that I added.  It was in the 'stock'; folder, and selected by choosing it via 'Media Storage', and selecting the ringtone...

No Go here either. I was hopeful, but mine also went away this morning. I have tried to figure out what is happening just prior to losing it, but so far have not nailed it down. meantime, I am taking your trick of using Smart Actions to set the ringtone when the screen status changes. A bit brute force, but it works.

Crazy-

How many are experiencing the Issues with Ringtones similar to both posting on this Thread?

You had to have changed or deleted a file or files...

Third Party Apps with Ringtones/Wallpaper are mostly the issues not playing well with our System apk...can't remember the last time I had an issue with Ringtones 2 years+

I never had a problem with ring tones until jelly bean. Ring tones I created or downloaded would reside on my sdcard never had a problem keeping them linked to the contact they were assigned. Once I moved them to the internal sd card no more Problems.... Ross Sent via Tapatalk

I never had a problem with ringtones until this ROM.  I do not have any 3rd party apps for ringtones, or wallpaper.  It did it on the leak version of this ROM, and I upgraded the kernel, and flashed the OTA version of the ROM hoping it would fix the problem, and it is still there...  I REALLY like the circle widgets, so I am going to stick with this ROM, but it is really frustrating...

I have had no issues with this ROM other than the initial install that was probably because I didn't delete and recreate the slot before flashing.  Also had one minor issue with gmail after installing a theme, but just had to manually update and it was resolved. I agree the ROM is sweet.  I really don't run anything else.  Flash a few, but always come back to FlyingJelly.

If it's not asking too much, I would like to request a hot reboot option to brew implemented into the power menu please.

P.s. Awesome Rom!

Those look cool. ROM is still working great other than the ring and notification tone. That's on stock too. I like this ROM. Your CPU tweeks are sweet. Found some good ones for battery saving. Keep up the good work bro.

I have Moto Razr....I will cut you.

Do I need to do both patches to get current to the 2.1.1?
