I am on 2.1.1 on both.

did you install the 2.1.1 utility last out of the utility downloads? if you did, or didnt, try reinstalling 2.1.1 utility cause that ones batch file is set up differently then the rest and has to be installed last.

Edited the Utility post with the full exe of FJUtility2.1.1....if you have any issues with previous installs, simply delete the folder from your desktop and install the full one posted. All future Utility updates will be based off this version and only compatibility will be with FlyingJelly 2.1.1+ Roms.
Thanks! :D

can I flash this rom over my stock android xt912 jellybean rom? Or do i really have to create a new rom slot and install to there? I would like to have only 1 rom on my phone so i dont have my space all spread out everywhere.

On the stock slot? You can but it's not recommended...

im really new to rom flashing so sorry for my ignorance.

What would be the problem with removing the stock rom? Flying Jelly seems to be stable enough to replace it?

If you remove the stock rom, you would not be able to receive updates until you put stock back. Having said that, we may not ever get another update to our phones AND since we have the fastboot files, you could technically put it back.

Generally we just dont mess with stock. Also, if you replace it and something goes wrong, it will take time to recover, but if Stock is still working you can at least work until you recover.

Alright, first time I've had issues on an install. Ok, admittedly, this is only my second rom, lol. After install I have no radio, no data or signal of any kind, results: cannot get past the setup screen.

Droid Razr Maxx
Running 4.1.2 installed via Droid Razr Utility 1.9
98.72.16

Install steps: factory reset stock rom, wiped until sore, switched over to slot 1, wipe system, all caches (repeated for good measure) deleted rom slot 1, recreated slot (1gb). Ran install of 2.1 full zip, was successful, cleared caches, rebooted...no signal/radio. Back to safestrap for cache clearing again, then another install, neither helped. Booted back to stock, dloaded 2.1.1 patch, cleared caches, added patch, still no worky, same issue.

What am I missing, please?

First I'll say thanks for the amount of detail :-) people usually say "help, I don't know what to do" and we're like "uhhhhh... give us some info" lol
OK so when you boot to slot 1 swipe the home screen from left to right and you'll see the toggles... make sure mobile data is on. If it is but still not working then let me know and we can try other stuff.

Once you are up and running on 2.1 you will get an OTA update in the notification bar. Just click on it and install from there and you will be on 2.1.1 but yes just download the 2.1 zip

ok thanks.. i wasnt sure what would be easier for rooting.. just update to JB and then root or do it while it was ICS and do the steps to get to JB.. sounds like just updating to JB and then rooting is easier?

Hey - Looking for a little advice. I don't have a stock system, but am running fine on Flying Jelly. I think I need to do a clean reinstall to get stock back so I don't want to cause myself issues by doing things that are not the best. I want to get stock back, then reflash Flying Jelly.

I think I have a decent understanding of what to do with the the exception of restoring things via Titanium Backup. I know that you do not restore system data across ROMs, but it is okay to use the Migrate System Data function in Ti BU.

I have been told that you should only have Safestrap on the stock system. Are there other apps, like Voodoo, or superuser apps that should not be restored outside of the stock system? Also what about all of those Android and Moto Apps? Does including them in the restore result in bloating up a nicely debloated ROM like Flying Jelly?

Also - FYI - I hadn't heard this, but apparently Safestrap backups made with the root protected by Voodoo may not be able to be restored. I had two stock backups that I made with the root protected, neither of which would restore. It may be because the root was protected. I couldn't say for sure. I had never heard this before but it is certain that I lost my stock system and neither of two Safestrap backups I had made would restore.

Thanks for any advice on the best things to restore when I reflash the Flying Jelly.

Most welcome on the details. I read and research quite a fair amount, and read this whole topic, just didn't see anything quite matching, but the toggles rings a bell, but I thought it was in reference to stock JB.

Anyhoo...booted to slot 1, landed on setup screen again, and tried to swipe from left to right to find the mysterious toggles. Right to left, left to right, one finger, two fingers, whole hand (whoa, Nelly!), nose, cheek, no toggles. But I was able to pull them down from the top. Data toggle was on. I saw the topmost toggle to lead to settings, went there, tried to go into "mobile networks" to check data there, but "Unfortunately settings has stopped." Prior to that text messaging also stopped, btw.

Back to safestrap, slot 1, factory reset, wipe system, caches, wipewipewipe. Reinstall 2.1 full zip. All same results.
Clarification: the only "successful" msg I get is safestrap congratulating me just after zip install. Bit premature, I might say ;)

Any help is appreciated.

...no signal/radio. ...

This is just a hair-brained theory, but I had a similar problem myself multiple times. In my case, I'd created my rom-slots that had this problem when my Stock side was in Airplane mode. So I deleted the new slots where I could not get a radio signal, went back to my Safe side, disabled Airplane mode and made sure I was getting a good signal before going back into Safestrap and then re-created a new rom-slot ... issue was gone.

My hair-brained theory is that at least in my case, when creating the new rom-slot while Safe side was in airplane mode that somehow something carried over into the creation of the new slot that caused the initial text messaging crash (during boot prior to entering set-up) and failure of set-up process to proceed as it could not acquire any signal at all. But after I did the new slot without Safe side in Airplane mode, never had such a problem.

YMMV.....

Dloaded, performed all wipes and fresh install...same issue/error. No signal

This is just a hair-brained theory, but I had a similar problem myself multiple times. In my case, I'd created my rom-slots that had this problem when my Stock side was in Airplane mode. Thank you for suggestion, but no airplane mode-4G and bars were lit up and bright as I exited/powered off.

On second thought, I was going to ask what I thought was an unrelated question, but could the fact that I do factory reset (and cache wipes) to stock slot before I head over to slot 1, be causing a similar result? Leaving an "unactivated" rom behind? Or is it necessary to reset, to prevent latent apps and file fragments, interference, etc?

Edit: just realized that I've done both- reset stock then proceeded, and also forgotten and left it activated (though rather minimal, only added file manager, and is already a bit debloated via TiBU).
Question still remains as to what is best?
