TL:DR - Flashing to stock isn't really flashing "everything" to stock, fyi.

I've been running Safestrap 3.11 & Jellycore for a while now as my daily. I decided to re-flash stock and try the JB OTA for my 912 Razr. I couldn't get the OTA to even download but had already flashed stock 211 with the batman tool while looking for it in preparation. I'm dedicated that way ;P.

Well since I couldn't get the OTA to download in an hour or so, I reinstalled SafeStrap 3.11 on my recently flashed to stock .211 and rebooted expecting to spend a good hour reloading and reseting all my Jellycore goodness.

But at reboot all my rom slots were exactly as they were prior to flashing back to stock. Even my Jellycore slot was EXACTLY as it was pre-flash. It had my preferences, email, apps, everything. It was like I hadn't even wiped my cache!

I'm pretty sure this isn't anyone's fault and is just a pitfall between the functions of two really awesome projects. But if anyone out there is relying on the Batman tool to "clean" a phone, it doesn't, at least if you use Safestrap 3.11 that is.

So FYI if you use the batman tool to stock-flash a phone before selling it or whatever, all your stuff is still there.

I dont believe a full wipe of the internal or external sd cards was ever part of the tool. AFAIK

Well first off all if "batt tool" you mean @Mattgroff utility , you must not of ran it right or you did not properly set it up. Why do I say this? Good question! In this utility there are files , these files are OEM specific (Motorola) that have all the original stock stock software for your phone . In connection with running thus tool you would have had your phone on a fresh 4.0.4 system . With a welcome screen , as you did when you first bought the phone. I can say this because , you would have no data left on your phone.

2.) The jelly bean ota is not official from Verizon , you can't pull it. You would have to side load the file in stock recovery.

Now before starting a thread , it probably would of been a good idea to ask in the thread , any questions pertaining to your problem. Not to mention you spreading false information about Matt's utility. So the best thing to do would be to go to the thread and read a little bit . There will be more then one person willing to help, or try chat.

I mean no disrespect , just trying to explain the proper way to do things.

So yeah, unless you choose to wipe the phones data by pressing any key (fastboot -w) you phone will still have ALL of your user data there. It clearly states after that is does NOT wipe sd cards. There are 3 places to keep data on the Razr. There is the data partition (where apps are installed and keep data). There is the INTERNAL SD Card, where you can move app data too, store pictures, music, etc. And there is the EXTERNAL SD card, similar to internal but removable. The ONLY way to completely wipe your phone is to go into Safestrap, format both the internal and external SD cards, then run "bat tool" and when prompted, allow it to format the /data partition. You will indeed find the phone completely empty at this point as the utility rewrites every other partition. FXZ files we supposed to benefit the end user when they replaced SBF files in that they do not require the user to lose their data when being utilized. SBF files used to torch the phone. This benefit is that if there is system corruption, one could reflash the system partition and NOT lose their data. It's not a security issue, it's designed as such. One would have to intentionally perform a fastboot -w to erase the /data and /cache partitions.

Thank you tusc. I just want to mention it is highly recommended to wipe data factory reset , anytime you are going back to stock. This is optional but again highly recommend. This will not erase your SD card.
