I'd like to share a success story for others who may suffer my fate. Device specs:
KAUG0139BC Model: XT907
MSN: P727VJBVQQ HW: B
21/13
IMEI HEX: 99xxxxxxxxxxxx 2
My Verizon Razr M began acting up about a month before it became stuck in a boot loop. It would reboot automatically several times a day for no apparent reason. When it no longer would boot I put it away and bought a replacement, not a Motorola.
The following is a summary of the effort that ended with a restored device earlier today.
1. Searched for a solution on and off for two months from this and other forums.
2. Learned how to put the device in Fastboot mode <
>. AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S)
10.9B(*) (sha-61146a2, 2014-07-29 06:20:44)
eMMC Info: Size 8GB
Device is LOCKED. Status Code: 0
Battery OK
Connect USB
Data Cable
Fastboot Reason: Boot menu selected
3. Learned that I would need to use a Windows 7 machine with a USB 2.0 port.
4. Found and installed
, and on the Win7 machine.5. Used the RSDLite app and the XML file as described here three times before the device booted successfully. The first time the flash failed at step 1. The second failure ended with the message, "Failed flashing process: 15/17 flash system "system img" -> Unable to read file in operation." The third time was the charm.
So after the device booted I used the onboard settings to return it to its factory state. Now it works like new.
Hope this helps.
