New to Cyanogenmod Updater in "About Phone".  If I update cyanogen mod from #25 to #27, do I need to reflash google apps and will my phone need a complete set up again.  Is there a way to update where I wouldn't have to redownload apps, set up homescreens again, sign into my accounts again, etc. etc.  Essentially like if I updated on stock, nothing is lost or changed accept for the improvements....

Thanks!

Works the same as Stock...

That said,
I would still Wipe both Caches and Permission... Or Dirty Flash... Not doing any of the above...
You will not lose any information from either method you use...I would still do the first choice...

Thanks for the quick response!  Just to confirm we are on the same page and I fully understand...

1) Download the newest nightly from Cyanogenmod Updater

2) It prompts me to reboot into recovery, in which I will use Safestrap

3) Clear both caches and fix permissions in Safestrap

4) Install the nightly .zip into the same slot 1 I am currently using  and I do not need to run gapps again

5) Reboot phone and everything will be the same as before just with new nightly updates (accounts, homescreens and apps, settings, etc)

Just want to make sure before I move forward with nightly update.  Not that it takes too much time to re-setup your phone from scratch but would like to update the nightly every few days or so and don't want to not have to set up the phone from scratch every time.

Thanks again!!!

If you use the CyanogenMod Updater in About Phone the whole process is automated. In your step two above when it asks to reboot and install and you choose yes it will reboot to recovery, flash the update and wipe both caches and then reboot to system all by itself. You will notice that it will say something about 'updating apps' or something similar to that which is your indication that it wiped the caches. Once it fully reboots you will be on the newest nightly.
Happy flashing.

on 7/27 now. nobody had any dialer freeze up problems with 7/25? i tried rebooting and fixing permissions also. after a reboot it would work but later on would eventually freeze and get hung up until i rebooted again.

yup! I did... Had it on 7/28 too.... But did a wipe... Fix permissions... And haven't had it since. I hate when that happens though

Go to about phone and click the build number 8 times to enable developer options, and then you can click USB debugging from there.

Running 7/28 nightly, flashed through the About Phone CM Updater and everything is running smooth!

Is it just me or is any one else having issues with the sounds intermittently working? I mean sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I already was late to work since the alarm never went off...since it somehow turned into an "unknown ringtone"

After every flash I have to reboot to ensure the alarm works.

This needs to be checked in Settings to allow the process...the other setting that should be checked is in Security... Check...Unknown Resources

Not the actual settings, but the place where turning off screen animation is located

Flash the newest build and see if that fixes anything! If it doesn't try and do a permissions fix! I just had someone send me a picture and it worked fine.

For me on the latest build it loses GPS signal. Any idea why this happens?

Sounds like you just answered your own question......
FWIW, I still replace the gps.config file in system/etc with the one from my stock rom after each nightly flash. Don't know if I need to, but it's part of my routine. Along with enabling softkeys...
