Hey i know this is the cm 10.1 jb thread (which i am running) but i'm curious if anyone has tried the AOKP builds from hashcodes download section. Would love to try it but if it's hardwired for slot one like this one i really don't wanna redo everything. Is it possible to back up my slot one rom and flash a new one in that slot? Sorry for all the questions but i'm new to safestrap.

Well, if you're talking about the stock side, it is running ICS, and I have a feeling that that is the source of my problems.

Yeah this thread is for if you're running the jb kernel on stock side. There's separate versions of 10.1 that dhacker put out for ICS on the goo website as well, look for the ones that say ICS kernel only

I'm running aokp now and love it. All I did (not saying I recommend it but it worked great) is wiped cache davlik and system and installed over cm10.1. Keeps all the user apps, texts etc :)

Ahhh, I see. I was under the assumption that it meant it installed a JB rom with a separate JB kernel.

Does the camera work on the jb version? I'm running the jb rom with the ICS kernel right now and the camera doesn't work.

You can back it up too I'm pretty sure. And no to the post above, no camera, its a kernel issue, won't be solved til Google releases source at the least :/

They've already released the Android 4.2.1 source code. That's why CM10.1 even exists.

I still can't get this ROM to boot in Safestrap, if anyone wants to look at my thread in the help section.

That's exactly what backups are for. Make a backup, flash something new, if you don't like the new ROM simply restore the backup.
You can have backups of multiple ROMs too, if you feel like jumping back and forth without having to do setup. You're pretty limited only by your available storage - backups take up quite a bit of space.

Well I guess 4.2.2 is going to start screwing things up when they merge it...

Can someone test this for me - have your RAZR hooked to your PC and reinsert your micro SD card. Somehow I managed to get it to mount by doing this myself but I want to see if this works for others. I do have debugging enabled as well but no idea if that makes a difference.

At least on this build you'll have to do this step each time you reboot.

Also for those interested here's my Logcats:

<-- this one is when I reinserted without ADB running.

<-- this one is when I had ADB running when I reinserted.

Other things of note:

HDMI and Webtop as expected does not work at this point.

Signal meter at best stalls at around 2 bars for me. Occasionally it hits 3 bars but that's a rare at this point.

I just installed cm10.1 today with uptodate nightly and gapps. Install and setup went smoothly, however, I ran into the same problem others have had with Camera FCing due to gallery and SD card not recognized. I tried what you said Demoman, and it worked briefly, but for some reason, the phone rebooted, and I havent been able to get it to work since.

If my research was right, I thought camera had been worked out by this build (jb kernel only cm10.1 2013-2-10). Has there been a way to resolve the external SD issue?

Finally, Thank you Hashcode, this ROM seems so stable and smooth, I'm salivating waiting to use this as my DD as soon as I can =)

Heyyyy y'all,

does the hotspot feature work??? And besides the listed bugs, are there any small annoyances? Guess what I'm asking, is, IS THIS A DAILY RUNNER?

Thanks a ton :D

You could read the thread?
It is smooth, if you can get past the list of stuff that don't work sure its a daily driver...

Edited to remove some spite from my response

From what I hear, it sounds like it could be close to a DD. From the XDA post

WHAT'S WORKING:
  • [01/23]MMS Fix(VZW)
  • [01/18]Incoming phone call bug fixed
  • [01/16]Bluetooth device starts/stops correctly (audio issues still)
  • Phone / 4G Data
  • Wifi
  • Display rotation has been fixed
  • Camera should work for images/video
  • GPS
  • HD codecs for YouTubeHD and Netflix
WHAT'S NOT WORKING (NOTE: I expect to be able to fix all of these issues, it's just taking some time):
  • Bluetooth audio needs work (leaving Bluetooth ON but unpair will cause the entire device to lose audio, turning Bluetooth OFF while unpaired fixes)
  • No hwcomposer yet for enhanced composition (wifi display, gpu enhanced overlays for battery savings)
  • GUI has some graphical "tearing" when moving rapidly through screens. We need to update graphics binaries to fix.
  • Wireless tether has some fields mixed up

However, for me, when I installed the JB Kernel 10.1, my camera does not work and the phone does not recognize external SD. I know people used to have this issue with earlier versions, but I'm not sure if people still have this issue or if its just me.
