Yes. I've tried Vignette and it also crashes and when I restart it it tells me that it cannot load the camera driver.

Hello to everyone..

I live in Argentina and my carrier is Movistar.
I have a XT912 which bought it unlocked in the US.
The phone works flawlessly with the stock rom (SMS, MMS, 3G, etc)

Recently I installed CM10.1. It work very nice but I have to issues, I can't send SMS and 3G doesn't wort at all.
If I try to send a SMS it gives me an error even though I can receive SMS.
And 3G does not work even though I go to APN settings and enter the correct Movistar settings I copied from stock rom.

Any help will be appreciated...

I'm writting to tell everyone I've done the whole process again using the patch a member from another forum suggested me and so far so good. Camera works, gallery works, SMS works, backlight works and DATA works too.
I have to do some more tests to confirm what else is working.

For the record the steps I've done were:

• Delete rom slot 1
• Create rom slot 1 (with 1gb)
• Install CM 10.1 (cm-10.1-20130524-NIGHTLY-spyder.zip)
• Wipe dalvik/cache
• Reboot to see install went OK. At this time wifi didn't work but I've managed to get it to work through terminal on the phone (su wifical.sh)
• Reboot into safestrap.
• Install patch (CM10.1_20130323_GSM_fix_XT912_spyder.zip)
• Wipe dalvik/cache
• Reboot to see install went OK. At this point the phone recognize my carrier correctly and with similar signal stregth compared to stock rom.
• Reboot into safestrap
• Install gapps (gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip)
• Wipe dalvik/cache
• Reboot to see install went OK. At this point I've add APNs for my carrier, disable wifi and 3G started. I went through some websites and phone also told me CM has a new nightly version. I took a picture went to gallery and delete the picture without any trouble.

I will try to do some more tests to see if I go with this rom as a daily to see how it goes. Credit for the patch goes to neo.ank a member from xda who share with me the patch.

 

Any suggestion you have will be welcome.

at this point, what's my best bet for a daily driver from this ROM, the latest nightly or the RC2? I've been on liquidsmooth the past month or so and haven't been keeping up on the CM development

You'll need a custom kernel. I use the JBX kernel and it overclocks to 1350 MHz. I'm not sure if there's a thread about it on this site.

I've heard the battery life on the aosp /aokp roms are terrrible as of now. How is cm10 doing as far as battery life and I don't mian compared to stock which is terrible, unless it is a lot better than stock.

The batter life for me is amazing compared to stock.. It almost doubles it.. I really like this rom.. The speed and features blow stock away.. Ready to download rc3 tho hoping for dock fix is my only wish i miss having in car dock to watch YouTube and listen to Pandora

RC3 seems to be dead. 

 

The next nightly is up though. I'm going to download it and give it a try. Will report back.

Before CM I ran Liquid smooth for a little over a month and the battery life was fine, I haven't used a blur based ROM in a long time so I can't really comment on aosp battery life in comparison to blur. I've only been on CM for a day or two so I'll let it settle in before I make a judgment on battery life.

Also, does anyone have a way to get rid of the crt screen off animation? I tried changing the animation speed to the fastest option in development settings but that just makes it awkwardly fast and stuttery

Seriously, the. Battery Life on both are Awesome...their Damn close my friend...to close to chose...if there is different of 1 hour or more...close enough...
The Dev's working both ROMs are Awesome in my books...
