Simple fix for anyone still having GPS problems ;
Boot into your stock side,
use a root file explorer to copy System > etc > gps.config to a new folder on your external sd card.

Reboot back into slot 1,
Copy and paste that file from the sd card to /system
It will overwrite the existing file.
Reboot
Instant location lock-on in Maps and Navigation

an app called faster GPS fixed my GPS.conf file. just select the correct continent and region, the values are applied to the GPS.conf file and worked like a charm

Please, I've posted twice regarding the overheating of the phone when streaming ANY video over the phone for around a half hour on it, Netflix, Hbo, YouTube..etc with little response as this poster is getting from the forums? The phone gets SO hot that it could potentially burn you or destroy your phone, I understand the risk is mine and really don't need to be reminded of that again, just looking for a solution or an idea as to what can be done, appears that the "gps" issue is an Important part of the rom but the overheating I would think would grab someone's attention, my thoughts were that this was a place that we could post potential problems and get input not necessarily by the devs but the community, after 2 attempts I finally received a response stating that sorry but this is your phone and as stated in the devs disclaimer your risk?  No help or suggestions, as with this poster who posted yesterday and has yet to get any recognition for the post? Not trying to start a issue here just not sure of why certain issues are responded to and others that could FRY your phone are not addressed, not a newbie to flashing started with the droid with no locked boot, so I've tried everything in my knowledge base to find a cause for this, unless it doesn't use the gpu that's built in for graphics and putting a load on the omap 4430 processor? or the 2 memory chips that's located toward the top? Battery? Any suggestions would help? Look I'm running the rc-2 now but wont stream video or anything that's memory intensive, so I love this rom and have been using it for months but again if this is an issue it's one that should be openly discussed by the community? But when mentioned it's ignored, or when re-mentioned, told that it's your phone your risk. I'm sure that anyone can replicate this as I've had 6 razr friends do so? Again great rom, I'm using it but this is or potentially a serious problem. IMHO. Best Wishes to all.

 
My phone ended up getting so hot it shut itself off once while streaming video. I activated developer settings (go in to About Phone, hammer/rapid-tap Build Date, then a message displays, hammer-tap Build Number and you have developer settings activated), and forced GPU usage for 2D rendering. This didn't seem to have an effect on my battery life, and the phone also has only gotten warm from streaming since doing so. I've seen threads suggesting having GPU always on, as well as Wi-Fi and all to save battery, but this seemed to keep the phone cool as well as boosting performance and reliability. Try it out and get back to us! Hope it helps!... Also, try hammer-tapping on CyanogenMod version to see a modified version of the JB easter egg.

I'll give it another shot with what you said. I'll report back with the results.

Same results, I forced gpu rendering and it made no difference. I got into about 7 minutes and the phone started getting hot. I guess I'll just stay stock for now.

@segordon- Did you update to the latest binaries on busybox? I did this and it took care of my phone warming up all the time. When flashing ROMs especially experimental ones, sometimes the binaries are out of date and your phone will work like crazy if it is missing some of the necessary files.

I tried to install busybox to test your fix and it said it couldn't install cus of superuser.

Edit: nevermind. It didn't like trying to install the first time. Tried again and it liked me again.

I did a dirty install with no trouble. Just wiped caches.

Anybody having camera issues with RC2 ? camera app starts up and as soon as camera shows what you are looking at the frame freezes up and after a while i get error saying that it stopped working.

flashed RC2 over 5/6 nightly, wiped cache/davlik, fixed permissions - nothing helps. Never had this issue on any pre 5/6 releases.

Any ideas?

 

Edit: doing a clean install - wiping system, doing factory restore and installing rc2 clean fixed it.

Been running RC2 for a couple of days with no probs. Smooth as butta! Did you try clearing app data/cache? If so you could trying dirty flashing RC2 to see if that fixed it. A lot of peeps have dirty flashed to fix probs they've been having.

No I didn't because I don't have busybox installed. Didn't know I needed it. I'll have to give that a try at some point. Would that be another cause of fast battery drain, or is it just because I didn't really let the rom settle in?

Had GPS issues nothing worked to fix brought to Verizon gave me a new one and all is good now I think it's mostly a phone issue least in my case

Did you open maps first, search for your destination, then hit "get directions" then choose "navigation" at the bottom left?

Edit; are you on the latest version of maps? 6.14.3?

Do you guys have Bluetooth problems? After 1 reboot Bluetooth seems to break. Toggle it on and it toggles off right away. Flashing new cm fixes it, but then after 1 reboot it breaks again.
