Please, I've posted twice regarding the overheating of the phone when streaming ANY video over the phone for around a half hour on it, Netflix, Hbo, YouTube..etc with little response as this poster is getting from the forums? The phone gets SO hot that it could potentially burn you or destroy your phone, I understand the risk is mine and really don't need to be reminded of that again, just looking for a solution or an idea as to what can be done, appears that the "gps" issue is an Important part of the rom but the overheating I would think would grab someone's attention, my thoughts were that this was a place that we could post potential problems and get input not necessarily by the devs but the community, after 2 attempts I finally received a response stating that sorry but this is your phone and as stated in the devs disclaimer your risk? No help or suggestions, as with this poster who posted yesterday and has yet to get any recognition for the post? Not trying to start a issue here just not sure of why certain issues are responded to and others that could FRY your phone are not addressed, not a newbie to flashing started with the droid with no locked boot, so I've tried everything in my knowledge base to find a cause for this, unless it doesn't use the gpu that's built in for graphics and putting a load on the omap 4430 processor? or the 2 memory chips that's located toward the top? Battery? Any suggestions would help? Look I'm running the rc-2 now but wont stream video or anything that's memory intensive, so I love this rom and have been using it for months but again if this is an issue it's one that should be openly discussed by the community? But when mentioned it's ignored, or when re-mentioned, told that it's your phone your risk. I'm sure that anyone can replicate this as I've had 6 razr friends do so? Again great rom, I'm using it but this is or potentially a serious problem. IMHO. Best Wishes to all.

Every smartphone I've ever had gets extremely hot when streaming anything for 30 mins straight or thethering stock ROM or custom. This is typical of these phones
Why do I love jacking with my phone so much??

I had this issue. I tried the AOKP 4.2.2 AViator ROM, This one and the Razr M port. All of them would work on Maps but not turn by turn navigation. Even stock failed for navigation. I downloaded this app called GPS status . Tools -> Manage A-GPS state -> Reset. Again , Tools -> Manage A-GPS state -> Download assistance. Reboot. It didn't work inside my building. But the moment I stepped in to my car , it started working. Hope this helpful for the folks out there with this issue.

I finally fixed my gps issue I had to use

You're gon'na love this Update...RC2 is working Awesome Full Boat with Performance...

However, I'm trying a New App called  SetCPU...

Checking to see if I change my Min MHz to 600 from 300MHz...if this CPU App make any different to the Performance of this ROM...Maybe even Quicker then a Jag after its Prey...

I have set CPU on mine. Works great. You should be able to raise min freq by creating a profile.

Well not sure what you means by Profile...Well, I know what it mean but No Option to create a Profile...I've checked ever where...

D-loaded the CPU App...did my setting changes...Also notice it now allows me to change my Min Setting in RC2 Performance but it doesn't Stick...

Meaning when I change it to 600 MHz it defaults back to 300 MHz...

Not sure if the Built-in CPU overrides the CPU I Downloaded...

Will see...

When you're on the main page of set CPU you can scroll to the right. That takes you to the profiles page where you can create a profile setting the min/max freq when the screen is on/off or when it meets other criteria. Don't forget to check "enable profiles" at the bottom that page.

Ok so here is what I did.

1. Downloaded

from the marketplace ON THE STOCK SIDE.

2. Once downloaded, use

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

to set the APN app to a system app by going to the app list, long pressing on the app, then scroll all the way to the bottom and pressing "convert to system app".

3. Go into the APN app and backup the APN settings. Ignore the warnings.

4. Reboot into cmod and install the APN app also.

5. Use titanium backup once again to do the same thing again but on the cmod side.

6, Now, go into the APN app and go into the setting menu thing by pressing the 3 lines button and press DIsable ICS check.

7. Now press the restore button and wait for the APN settings to be restored.

8. Reboot and enjoy working SMS and MMS.

Yes sir! That's the one I'm taking about. The profiles should make it stick, even if you select "apply on boot".
