My phone's gotten hot on stock or not when streaming video. Screen on, battery drain, high 4g usage, it's always gotten really warm. Switching to WiFi helps out a lot, but that's all my experience can say about it.
As to which potential/perceived issues gets priority, the answer I would give is a bit cold, but something just like it is in the OP: "it's your hardware, your concern." The devs will work on what they do. Which code or ROMs you flash is your responsibility.
I do understand that and don't expect any specific priority update for myself but I do believe this is something that is hazardous to the phone, I was using No charger watched a 1.5 hour movie over Wi-Fi and the top back of the phone become so hot that I couldn't touch it, turned it off and put it in front of the freezer for a few, Circuitry is not designed to handle heat at that level for any period of time, again not trying to ripple the water, BUT if this is a potential problem with the roms then it should be mentioned as one? As it seems I'm not alone on this and I'm sure it can be replicated easily by anyone, regarding stock, never had that issue with it, not any other rom I've flashed and I've flashed hundreds over the last 4 years (other than my bionic). I realize that it's my choice and I'm running cm 5/1 now as I find these roms to be the best out at the moment and hats off to the dev's, just making a point that if this is a stable problem with this then please mention in the Header so crackflasherz know going in? So as to not try to stream long videos and potentially damage the phone, my phone, my choice, my burnt circuit board, or speaker wires, etc.. was just trying to contribute, thought that was what this was for? Problems with the rom?
