and sorry to be blowing the thread up...but is there a way to fix the keyboard FC issue? getting it on 1/20

downloaded aokp kitkat gapps (wasnt sure which from goo.im) and kb is good now

had issues again, flashed with NO gapps, and everything is perfect now! especially when i figured out that custom ringtones needed different permissions now.

I use the Paranoid Android GApps (Minimal Package) with no keyboard issue.

Well, data is seeming kind of inconsistent with 1/20 nightly for me. Maybe I'll try a newer one.

Wish we could just get cm with the radio/mms reliability of stock

Hmm. I know signal isn't great in my office, but I didn't seem to have issues on cm10, but it won't hurt to let things go another couple days and see what's up

I've been looking to flash a new ROM lately but the ones that I've looked at required SS 3.11. I'm running 4.1.2, version 98.72.16. Of course, I'm rooted with SS 3.65. Can I flash this one? I'm still relatively new to this stuff so any help would be great. Thanks.

Also, do you guys recommend the jbx kernel? It looks like it would be a good thing...

Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

I'm running JBX-Kernel-2.0-Hybrid-4.4_2014-01-07 with the Jan 22 CM11 nightly.

This was a new, completely-redone, clean install on SafeStrap slot 2 (SS 3.65).

I have found no bugs at all. Everything works as expected. Performance is OK, battery life is OK. No FC's. No weirdness.

I don't see why not. All it will do is fail if not.

Thanks patton. Last question. I'm running 4.1.2 and the gapps link shows downloads for 4.3, 4.2 & 4.1.x. Can I use 4.3 or 4.2 or should I stick with 4.1.x? Thanks.

Kut str8 from my RAZR!

You needs the 4.4 gapps. It is 2014115 I think but I don't have it in front of me.

I think the 4.4 gapps is tagged "kk" for Kitkat. Someone deserves an arm punch for that.

So which gapps should I use?

I think I'm gonna go ahead and switch to kitkat. Rooting and flashing is the same, right?

Here's a

. The OP no longer has the Kitkat gapps download.

Create a slot 2, or wipe a slot for it.

Flash the CM11 nightly (1/27 is latest), flash the gapps from above, reboot system, go through set up, enjoy.

PS: I still think CM11 deserves a new dedicated thread, new instructions, valid links, and CM11-only discussions. Heck, this build of CM11 deserves its own website, commemorative beer, and a statue.
