What I dont understand is...How I can Download Safestrap...Works fine than decides to Stop the Updates...It Downloads...but when I hit Update it starts the process than Kicks to Safestrap instead to the Animation screen to Boot the New Update...

 

Any suggestion...Still on 9/1 with 9/3 pending

update reboots your system upon completion. On any reboot, safestrap shows. U can either hit continue, or wait 10 secs for it to time out and continue the boot.

ok I have a question I'm curious about ? I had ss3.11 running cm10 installed ss 3.5  on slot 1 with current nightly. everything is running fine stock runs fine. cm10 running flawlessly and berry running on slot 2. running fine. I'm curious if it's possible to boot back into stock uninstall ss.311 then boot back into slot 1 cm10 and create a backup then backup stock then wipe stock slot and restore my backup of current cm10 on stock slot? I thought I'd get some opinions before I tried this.

According to hash, you can install a cm Rom directly into your stock slot. Haven't tried it, and don't know if anyone else has, but you could be the guinea pig. The backup restore method doesn't work as far as I know.

My question is.... how did you install SS on a ROM slot, (as well as SS installed on stock)... and have it work properly?..... AFAIK you can't possibly have 2 versions of SS running at the same time...

Also, as far as flashing a ROM over stock, several have tried in the past (either intentionally or by mistake) and it fails.... on every version of SS....and then a fxz is required to un-bork the phone (either Matt's utility or RSDlite )..... and furthermore, why would you really want to.... the purpose of SAFEstrap is to be able to flash ROMs (over a locked bootloader) and still be able to keep stock intact in case of ROM failure......

Also ...... If you boot into stock and completely uninstall SS..... you will NOT be able to boot back into SS to do anything with the slots, because the slots simply will not be there......

I took the Stock Option after 3.50 stopped working...everything works fine in stock with Ss update...

Are you saying that you have CM10.2 running in the stock slot?  I tried installing CM10.2 to the stock slot and it just sat at the Cyanogenmod boot animation.  I had to restore stock using Matt's utility to get the stock slot up and running again.  I've had no issues with the new safetstrap except flashing over the stock slot.  I've updated my slot 1 CM10.2 ROM twice now without issue.

Johnthehillbilly, the reason I wanted to flash CM10.2 over stock was simple, I'm a crackflasher and it was advertised with the new safestrap version that it should now work.  A few people over at XDA on the XT910 Safestrap thread have reported success at it so I figured I would give it a try on the XT912.  Also that would allow me to get rid of stock and free up more room on my phone for other ROMS.  It's easy to go back and put stock back on without messing up your safestrap ROM slots.

ok to answer the question above, the steps I described is exactly as I did it. I still have ss 3.11 installed on stock according to what I have read u can install 3.5 on the new cm builds but in order to do that u have to be running the new builds hence ss 3.11 is on stock so I would assume ss 3.5 over wrote the old ss boot  ( but just my guess) I was gonna boot back into stock and remove 3.11 but thought everything is running so good I'd ask first. but yes on stock 3.11 is running on slot 1 3.5 so that was my question if I delete stock I also delete 3.11 how will this affect ss on slot 1?

Nope, In Slot 1 Safe Side I'm on 10.2...Awesome!!!

 

My friend, I would leave your Stock Side as Stock...I've seen the Post you mentioned too...but Flashing New ROMs over Stock Not sugguested...If you have a Solid Backup with Stock I suppose from what you've read try it...Beware... b-Cuz Matt Utilties will be your friend for ever...

 

That reminds me of the Droid X days with Flashing over Stock.... than Miui came with 2 Int which is what we call Safestrap...

For what it's worth, I have an XT912, and using Boot Menu Manager. I flashed CM 10.1 over Slot 1 by accident and got stuck at the CM boot animation. I don't remember what I did, maybe a full wipe/restore, and flashed again maybe. Either way I got it running. I did it since I'm new to this Slot stuff. Safe to say I have no stock ROM on my phone, but all is working well. I was used to my old Samsung Galaxy S Captivate without slots. Just one ROM. Today I updated to CM10.2.

Still running 9/1 nightly and its running smooth as a babys butt other then Pandora is acting strange.  It loads the album cover for a split second and then it disappears and just shows the music note.

tried installing 10.1.3 RC1 and run into the following issues when installing gapps.   AOSP keyboard fails to load and keeps giving a error message. also the play store does not work. I thought i read about this somewhere but can not find any posts about it. Any help would be appreciated

I had the same issue with gaps and the play store I fixed it bt installing the 8/13 gaps and I have had no issues with this rom since.

Does anyone else's phone get REALLY hot when using gps? My battery info said it got to a little over 120 degrees
