Regarding camera use on 10.2 8/16: It now appears that the camera has general issues regardless of whether Focal or the normal Camera app is used. Lockups/FC's are regular occurrences on both apps.

Using Focal, Camera Zoom, Camera Pro, and Stock...

No Issues with FC's, Lockups...

Interesting through...

 As I said before, It doesn't move your Safestrap folder to External SD. The swap only makes your ROM read External SD as Internal (by changing the mount points of both).

The Recovery an Safestrap (independent of ROM) reads it as it is.

I'm well aware that External SDcards cannot handle system level read-write. But that's not what this is about.

So,I repeat, swapping it only allows apps to store their data and/or media to External SD.

This is confusing for me to understand...But if you move your Apps to an External Card...will you still be able to use the Apps on your Phone once moved...?

I thought when you remove Apps from Internal your Apps are Dorman and will not work...

What the Hell do I know...Unknown Territory for me...

Did the same things . But used gapps 813 instead of core gapps. Don't think that's the problem?

Not Sure why people have such trouble with this rom...

I created a brand new slot 2, flashed cm10.2 and core gapps 4.3 that I downloaded from @dhacker29 's twitter feed link.
Everything ran perfectly.
Just downloaded 8-16 nightly via cm updater in settings /about phone.
Rebooted into safestrap, navigated to the download folder and flashed it.
No wipes of any kind, other than the cache wipe included in the install script.
Everything still works fine.
For what it's worth, I use Nova Prime launcher...

The default storage in jellybean is on the internal storage, i.e.; when you save a photo or download a ring tone or an .apk from a forum. The storage switch option included in 10.1 switched that type of action to the removable SD card due to the fact that safestrap uses the internal storage space (in the case of the Razr the 8 gig partition) for rom slots. I would be willing to bet that hashcode or darker will bake that back in to 10.2 at some point in the future. It's just not included in the standard cm10.2 code....

Awesome!!!

Just a note with Wifi after Flashing and Rebooting to your first Set up screen....

I think I mentioned this, after you Flashed 4.3 & Gapp let it run to your Start Screen to Set up...Now, just Reboot it again...Back to the Set up Screen...then you can Set up everything without having to reboot or Fix Permissions at the end to complete the fix...

Just a thought...

I tried this and I still cannot get connected to wifi on the 8/17 release.

I don't have this problem under stock or other ROMs. The 8/14 release worked fine.

Are you saying at the Start Screen after another Reboot you can't Set up WiFi along with other applications...

Did you enter your Wifi Password...

Didn't know about that. Tried it and now it won't even connect to wifi at all whereas before, it would at least say connected then it would disconnect.

At first, I couldn't connect via adb shell (enabled debugging mode and all, but my device never shows up). So instead, I ran it under terminal emulator. Not sure if that's the correct way or not, but I can't see how it's different from adb shell.

Maybe I'm not calling it correctly? Not sure if I have to pass in any command line parameters or not? Searching on google, it looks like I just run it without any parameters.

Also, how DO I get connected to CM10 via adb shell? I've reinstalled my drivers and that didn't help. It shows up under stock and Eclipse, but for CM10, doing an "adb devices" shows nothing.

Thanks!

I just Uninstalled 8/17 & 4.3 Gapp to see what I mentioned worked...Yes it does...
* Nandroid (Backup)
* Wipe out your Current ROM Slot
* Create a New Slot (Any One)
* Chose 1GB or 2 GB if you have lots of active Apps

Now, when its done...
* Wipe Cache
* Wipe Dalvik
* Wipe Factory
* Wipe Systems
* Flash 8/17
* Flash 4.3 Gapp
* Reboot

When you get to your Set up Screen...noting START...

* Reboot Again

From here it will allow you to Setup WiFi and all other Email option you chose...

Done it Twice...its works and WiFi becomes active with a Password...

If it doesn't work possibly a Bad Download...

That's great news.
As neoXank replied to my earlier post, doing a dirty flash works to retain the ext storage as the main(if you chose that option) for camera pics, downloads, and other app data.
Ideally I wanted a clean install for 10.2 but not having the ext as the main forced me to do a temp fix until the devs baked the storage swap option back in.
