SunShine Bootloader unlock now works on all models of the Moto X 2014, with the stipulation that you must be rooted. What that means... Anyone on 5.0 or below can unlock.
For those on 5.0: Using MoFo, flash a rooted image. Alternatively, King Root may be compatible with your phone for a temporary root.
For those on 4.4.x or below, use MoFo, King Root or Towel Root to obtain root.
Once you are rooted, purchase and install SunShine and enjoy an unlocked device.

If you are on a rooted 5.1 image through MoFo, SunShine will work. Exploits are only available for 5.0 and below, but SunShine will work on all ROMs, whether it is stock, modified or custom.
