Has anyone used kingroot and have it work? It does on my Maxx but losses root in boot. Also super super binary will not up date. I am on 4.4.4. Build su4-21. Like to root and install a stock de bloated rom. Sunshine does not work. Anyone know of a root method that works? Talked to jcase and most of what I been finding doors not work. Not sure if I can down grade from 4.4.4. to 4.4.3?

With a locked bootloader you are limited with what you can do. Any attempt to unlock while rooted with kingroot or hydrogen peroxide can brick the device. Downgrading is a definate no.

Do you know if this works? It bricks the phone to gain root. That part scared me.

If you start reading at the end of the thread going backwards, it looks like there are people that had it work once and had to redo it again and its failing the next time flashing the image so they are stuck. By the way I heard a rumor that a test for lolipop is going out to the 1080. I just flashed the update to my 1060 upgraded it to android 5.1 So you might want to stay stock for a bit if the upgrade comes out and your rooted it won't work.

That was back in July so it should be time (now since it is almost November) for Verizon to cough something up LOL. They still haven't released the Developer Edition image file for my 2013 Moto X Dev Edition. All I have is the OTA that it came up with. They used three updates to bring it from 4.4.4 to 5.1. I have never liked OTA patching. I would rather flash a full factory imgage like they do with my Nexus devices. Less chance for errors that way. Keep your eyes open for sales on the Motorola/Nexus 6 and the 2015 Moto X Pure Edition. In my opinion they are the top two phones going today. I have seen sales on the Nexus 6 listing it for under $300.00 which is less than half of what I paid for mine when it first came out.
