Hi, I've been recently trying to to flash a stock firmware onto my soft-bricked, stock, locked, not-rooted, Droid Razr HD XT926- running (or was running) 4.4.2. Whenever I've tried to to flash a firmware I've gotten errors along the lines of:

"07/07/15 22:19:11  [Device ID: 0] 1/17 flash partition "gpt.bin"

07/07/15 22:19:12  ERROR: 1/17 flash partition "gpt.bin" -> Phone returned FAIL. - on device ID 0.
07/07/15 22:19:12  [Device ID: 0] 1/17 flash partition "gpt.bin" -> Phone returned FAIL.
07/07/15 22:19:12  ERROR: Failed flashing process. - on device ID 0."

My stock recovery has an ADB sideload option, which allows me to flash update.zip files via my computer. With fastboot, I've been trying to flash the "VZW_XT926_4.4.2-KDA20.62-15.1_1FF.xml.zip" firmware, from drdev.com. If I wanted to try to flash it with ADB, would I just put the phone in sideload mode, rename the file to "update.zip", move it to my current directory, and call "$adb sideload update.zip"? I haven't been able to find much documentation on sideloading, and I assume that whatever is causing fastboot to fail would mess this up too, but I'm pretty much at the end of my rope with this and running out of things to try. Is there any chance that adb would work where fastboot doesn't?

Thanks so much,

Yeshaya

You can't flash the firmware zip via adb sideload.  You have to use fastboot and enter each command that is iisted in the xml file in order or use rsdlite which uses the xml file or house of moto which creates its own script. If it is not flashing with any of the tools and your getting the same error every time and you have ruled out a driver or cable issue then the last thing would be a hardware failure.
