Razr Blade, an exploit that gains root access on the Motorola Droid Razr running 4.1 (Jelly Bean), is available at:

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

To run the exploit (currently Windows only), download and extract the entire zip file, ensure your device is connected via USB, ensure you have the latest Motorola USB drivers installed, ensure USB debugging mode is enabled on your device, and double-click "run.bat".

PLEASE FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS IN THE EXPLOIT CAREFULLY.

Please do not re-host or modify this exploit without asking permission first, since this makes support difficult and annoying.

Enjoy,
Dan (@djrbliss)

Thanks Man

You gotta uninstall the update not install the update and/or clear the smart action app data  If that fails then try the full factory wipe because there might be something funky with the app. Good luck!

I already had ran updates from the Market before running the tool and ran into issues. I factory reset my phone from settings and re-ran the tool and that did it!

Thx DJR!

Damn, that was some good entertainment! Reminded me of that classic "Who's on first" bit.

You may have to do a factory reset then try the root method again. This has worked for a bunch of other people with your issue

Thanks, worked like a charm, I want to advise that if you have updated Smart Actions from Market, try to uninstall it or try to revert it back to factory because I ran into the same issues as mention before. All I did was uninstall the update and follow the instruction to the letter, and it went through. Thanks again!! Keep up the great work!

I went through the same issues, i was getting this Message "link failed No such file or directory." from every phrase (1-4). But as soon as i uninstalled the update and did as you requested everything worked flawless. Just heads up for others that might be wondering what the heck is wrong, check your "SmartActions" app and uninstall the updates and revert it back to factory as "Samsonite79" mentioned.

And Dan you did an amazing job with this. Keep up the Good Work

And when I attempt to update the Superuser binaries, I get:
Unpacking sutools... okay!
Checking current install path... /system/bin/su
Downloading new binary... okay!
Gaining root access... fail!

I got that error when trying to update my binaries last time. I uninstalled the Superuser update then re applied the update and did the binaries again and it worked fine.

Wipe data and start over. Probably need a virgin smartactions app.

my smart actions is not a virgin I raped it first thing when I got the OTA and lost root....I opened it and had battery saver already set...i just selected a action and hit save....all was fine.....

Mine appears to be stuck at cleaning up in phase 4. How long should I wait? It's been about 10 minutes.

Thanks

Look at your phone on the "Cleaning up " stage. it is going to ask for Root Permissions, GRANT it, then it will reboot, and all done !
