I tried a bunch of things and it worked. Sorry gang, don't know what did work.
I had Bluestacks installed before the whole process began. I uninstalled that.
I think it even worked with the latest version updated smart actions. I have auto updates on (but how do I know?)
Need to clear cache and data from apps>manage apps. I stopped processes also.
When running the root app, I had to help the reboot process or be more patient. When it was rebooting and appeared hung, I rebooted it manually with the power button and the script recognized the reboot when powered on.
I tried so many combinations of things that I'd not know what worked. It saved me from wiping the phone as recommended!
Good luck!

Has anyone posted a normal script output? Is it useful, or do good results appear different every time? Here's the one that worked for me. Sorry, I screen grabbed and did OCR because I forgot to output text.

Fuzzyman, unzip the razr_blade file again, there is a run.bat. Perhaps, your windows file viewing permissions are hiding *.bat file. (guess).

Also, I wiped using home>>apps (options button) > manage apps then find the program, clear data and cache. This worked for me, but from a LOT of reading on this thread (20+ pages) I"ve seen some have an updated smartactions app, and they'll need to factory wipe, install base the Jelly Bean with the original smartactions with the exploit still in there.

Also, if you don't see a run.bat, look for one named just run. You may have the setting "hide extensions for known file types" set. It's the default setting so if you haven't ever changed it, it's more than likely set. If so, you won't see the .bat part of the file name.

I've not had a root in many years , so anyone who can tell me how to exploit , let me know. I got to clockworkmod tecovery on my device , tried a sideload via adb too
I've tried this exploit 10 times. are you saying going to clockworkmod recovery , factory reset , then run before signing into gmail will work ?

If you're having problems, as a recommendation, start by flashing the stock rom. Back when I rooted my Razr the day the exploit was released, I couldn't get the exploit to work until I started with a clean, wiped, fresh flash. You can get the stock OTA rom here:

To flash, you need to use RSD Lite in Winblows (Sorry, there isn't a Mac/Linux version) You can find it here:

I don't take any credit for either of those files, since I didn't upload them, but they should work for you.

If you need to flash in Mac OS or Linux, unzip the sbf file, and copy the script I wrote from

, along with the proper fastboot executable into the same directory where you unzipped the contents of the sbf file, and flash by typing the following command in the terminal:

I also converted the run.bat script for Razr Blade to a Mac/Linux sh script.

Just like with the above script, extract the contents, and copy the script and the appropriate adb executable into the directory where you extracted the Razr Blade exploit. To execute the script, type the following command in the terminal within the Razr Blade directory

I tested both of these scripts in Mac OS, and I was able to flash a fresh system and root with no problems. I hope this will help anyone who is still having problems. I only tested the scripts in Mac OS, but they should work in Linux also. Mac OS doesn't require drivers, and I don't believe Linux does either. If anyone wants to test the scripts in Linux, feel free to do so and post your results.

Your user info says you're on the Razr Maxx HD. This exploit is only for the Razr & Razr Maxx. It will not work on the Razr HD family of phones.

Thanks priest . I have used this utility before , good call. Its a 2-3 hour time investment . I think I'm going to wager on one of these geniuses finding a root exploit on 4.1 2.

I am having the same problem - data logger permission denied error - after going through smart action steps. Clear data, cache, anything could think of. Always same error message. Seems like lots of possible fixes but can't say I am savvy enough to understand best approach. Not sure what wipe phone even does. Think maybe it's just over my head but help welcome for a simpleton like me. Love to donate if can get my root back. Thanks. Matt
