VERY EASY!
Follow instructions here. Will only work for DRoid Razr and Maxx. NOT any HD, not any other phone!
This is ONLY for the DROID RAZR XT912 and DROID RAZR MAXX XT912. Do NOT use this on an XT910!
DROID RAZR Utility XT912 Jellybean -- Windows + Mac + Linux (All in One!) is here:
Video here:
Print instructions and FOLLOW directions.
1. Option 1 Flash JB and wipe all data
2. Option2 flash JB will NOT wipe data (not suggested---clean isnstallis always better!)
3. Option3 RazrBlade. Make sure your USB cable is connected and yu are in Media Mode!!! If not, u will not root!!!! This is the cause of many problems because it is omitted in video and on Dos display prompts during install of root.
4. Install Safestrap.
If u already have JB on system, not a problem. This works. I did it.

After trying to make the Linux version work for 3 days I finally tried the Windows version which worked the first time. No problems with the windows version at all. Take the Linux version off the download since IT SIMPLY DOES NOT WORK.

The Linux version DOES NOT WORK AT ALL!!! It should be put on the shelf and disregarded until fixed.

I rooted my Razr Maxx on Jellybean, but lost my free hotspot. (really Disappointed and sad)
I got FoxFi working again (and YOU can get the native WiFi app to work again) by installing SQLite (a $2.99 purchase), and following these instructions.
The difference is my phone's entitlement check was on line 150, as opposed to the example. FoxFi works again, and all is good.

Ran the exploit but got error message saying multiple devices and multiple emulators. Whats up?
My guess is you have Blue Stacks installed....if not, its possibly other drivers that are installed.

Droid RAZR MAXX. Verizon. Never rooted. OTA Jelly Bean (4.1.2) pushed a week ago or so. and FoxFi wirless tether broke.
I'm unable to get this exploit to work. I've rooted other phones a couple years ago, am an EE, and able to follow instructions.
Drivers work fine, run.bat runs fine. USB Debug always on. Communication is working well between PC and Phone.. I wiped the smart actions data and cache so I could see the "get started" screen in Smart Actions. Tried rebooting the phone and repeat several times, disabled all anti-virus on the PC.
All phases of the script, show "error, more than one device and emulator". is that normal?
It outputs "Exploit complete!"
After installing super user, or root checker, it tests negative for su priveledges.

This is not the thread for questions BUT you are going to need a wipe using the Utility then do root again before signing into Google. I think there was a smart actions update that kills the exploit but if you are fresh it works.

That exploit will not work on this build, the vulnerability used was patched.

Thanks, I misread his post and assumed that he'd be posting a question relevant to the topic.

BTW for anyone reading for assistance, wacocapretto didn't actually wipe his data. After he did it worked fine
Does this mean wiping phone data? Or just using the app manager and clearing data and cache for that app? I've not wiped phone data.
I'm unable to get it to work, and have tried Mass Storage, Media Mode. Which one should it be?
Also, how are you logging the output so I can post?

In USB storage mode, all phases of the script, show "error, more than one device and emulator".
In media mode the script looks more functional. It seemed to get stuck rebooting (I helped it). The script failed to gain access to some *.jar files, ...
Both methods after installing super user, or root checker, it tests negative for su priveledges.
