Well if you 2 would read the title of the thread, you would see that it says XT912 ONLY. There have also been about 50 comments telling you guys that it will only work on the XT912.

The only difference between the RAZR and RAZR MAXX is the battery size. The hardware is identical, so that shouldn't make a difference.

Well, kind of sounds like you have an old adb from the message you posted....do you have another version of adb in your path? Try running the utility from within the folder where it exists, as there should also be an adb.exe there as well and it should pick that one first.

If its really the case that it is not old, but still running, then from the command line before starting the run.bat file, from within the directory, issue the "adb kill-server" command without the quotes, then run the run.bat file.

Yesterday, I upgraded my Droid Razr Maxx via OTA to JB 4.1.2, system version 98.72.16.XT912.Verizon.en.US. Then I immediately downloaded this exploit and executed the bash script under Linux. I keep getting these errors with the /data/logger file as reported by others:

[*] Phase three (this will take a minute)...
failed on '/data/logger' - Permission denied
mkdir failed for /data/logger, File exists
Unable to chmod /data/logger: Operation not permitted
link failed File exists

The solution proposed several times in this thread is to uninstall any updates to SmartActions and clear the data for that app. However, I can't find anywhere how to do that on my Droid. So, could somebody please tell me how to uninstall updates to SmartActions and clear SmartActions data? Also, does anybody else have any suggestions for me to try to get this to work?

Many Thanks!

Gordon

I was rooted -- accepted the OTA and had no issues there. Lost root. Have tried the exploit several times now (and cleared Smart Actions). Everything appears to be working and it says exploit was successful, but I still don't have root access. I've tried three times.

Any ideas on what else I can try without doing a full data wipe?

I found how to clear SmartActions data on my Droid with:

Settings > Apps > All > SmartActions

I cleared the SmartActions data and then retried the exploit, however, it did not work with the same old errors:

[*] Phase three (this will take a minute)...
failed on '/data/logger' - Permission denied
mkdir failed for /data/logger, File exists
Unable to chmod /data/logger: Operation not permitted
link failed File exists

So, could somebody please tell me how to uninstall updates to SmartActions since that has been recommended several times in this thread? Also, does anybody else have any other suggestions for me to try to get this to work?... I am getting frustrated....

Thanks,

Gordon
