FYI: Razr_Blade rooted my Razr Maxx with no issues -- and I am presently restoring apps (etc.) with Titanium with no problems, yet.
My razr was -- so to speak -- "clean as a whistle" -- as I had just done the following prior to running Razr_Blade:

1. Backed everything up with Titanium Backup (and another app, for good measure); also copied my sd & sd-ext.
2. Restored stock ICS with "DroidRazrUtility ver. 1.82" (no issues with this, either)
3. Then:. Installed current Verizon Jelly Bean upgrade -- from my SD card - no issues here, either.
4. As mentioned above, I am in the process process of restoring Titanium backups -- and have had no issues so far.

I had rooted previously and used Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper during the JB update. This kept root for programs superuser had already been allowed on, but hosed my SU and allowing any new programs to access it. Root Checker did not show having root access.

In running this exploit, I received the same permission denied errors as those posting here. I did a Temp Unroot in Rootkeeper and rebooted the phone. Reran the exploit and all seems to be good now. Root Checker shows success, BusyBox installed and updated, and all root programs are properly requesting and getting root.

Thanks for sharing. I encountered this same issue and your steps worked perfectly.

Also, much thanks to djrbliss for the utility!

... Still no sucess...
Could anyone check which Smart Actions Version is included in the Verizon Version? in EU we got 4.2.2.5.0... maybe we got a newer version?

Same here.

I gave a JB FOTA update. The reason:

System Version: 982.124.14.XT910.Retail.en.FR
Kernel Version: 3.0.8-g7198280
Build number: 9.8.2O-124_SPUEM-14

And Smart Actions version upgraded to 4.2.2.5.0 wthout any possibilites of downgrade. (uninstall updates not avaiable)

And this exploit not working. Trying everithing. Always say: link failed, permission denied etc..

Before this 4.0.4. root work perfect.

So this is sucks.

oh boy.. having issues getting root again after just pulling the official OTA JB. running the utility results in it starting but then it just sits there after saying "starting daemon"

debbugging is on, MTP is on .

any ideas?

Usb debugging on?? In Mtp mode of usb? Cleared data on smart actions?? If yes to all these try a reboot and run it again.

I am rooted running 4.0.4 stock rom , didn't install the jb leak back on christmas. Do i need to unfreeze al apps that are frozen and use SuperSU to completely unroot before the recent offical update will take?( got the smartactions part down)
Basically can i use supersu to fully unroot? then update, then use this to rooting method to re-root my razr with the new jb build?

I might be wrong but I think there is also a security uodate JB then the new ota you have to tske them in order or it wont work. It seems like the updatez from verixon are breaking root so you need to do the manually read bavk in the thread.

That's all I did, removed safe strap 3.11 via the app, used supersu un root, then installed the downloaded update. Allowed update, used this exploit to reroot, reinstalled safe strap and now I'm trying roms again.
