If you are running superuser you can use voodoo ota root keeper to back up root then temp unroot when using the email client. If you are using SuperSu there is a temp unroot option available also but not sure if you have to buy the pro or not to use it. Superuser app does have a temp unroot option if you swipe to the left screen but I personally haven't used it. The bad thing is you will have to temp unroot when using the email client then restore root/uncheck temp unroot in some cases when you are done. Might be a little tedious lol.

Yes! I didn't even think about using voodoo. That could work! My company subsidizes our data plan. So I guess I can unroot/root as I am essentially getting paid to do that now vs losing the subsidy by taking a blackberry.I really hope this method works

Here's a question. I'm a longtime SuperUser Elite user. Is there a way to use SuperUser instead of SuperSU? Not sure if I can replace files or what the best way to go about it is.

Thanks

Guys,

I will really need help on this one. My company is trying to stick it to us! We use GOOD technologies as an enterprise server for emails/address books/calendars. To get GOOD to work I even gave up my unlimited data!

Now my company is saying that anyone that has a rooted phone can't use GOOD and must go back to using a blackberry. A BLACKBERRY!!! I called GOOD and they confirmed they have the ability to see whether I am rooted or not.

I don't want to go back to a BB! Is there any way to disguise my phone's rootiness?

Any help would be apprieciated

Yes, use Divide. I dont believe that temp un-rooting will work for you, as it hasnt for me in the past for this type of situation. Divide creates a separate partition for you to keep work in. Try that and see if it works.

You would need to uninstall SuperSU and install superuser

. It is untested as I don't have a razr in JB to try. If it needs fixing, please, let us know and we can iron it out. Thanks

I tried rooting my Razr MAxx on my Mac, but was not successful. I kept getting the following error.

[*] Phase three (this will take a minute)...
failed on '/data/logger' - Permission denied
mkdir failed for /data/logger, File exists
Unable to chmod /data/logger: Operation not permitted
link failed File exists

Used the Windows version on my other machine and the process went smoothly. I am now rooted and on JB. Is this the equivalent of giving Big Red the finger?

When playing with the phone I have better luck using Windows in a VMWare from my Mac, than the Mac utilities....

So I've searched high and low for a solution to this, but to no avail.

I have followed the prerequisites and directions exactly as displayed, I have the proper drivers, etc. but I continue to get this message:
[*] Waiting for device...
* daemon not running. starting it now *
* daemon started succesfully *
error: more than one device and emulator
[*] Device found.
[*] Phase one...
error: more than one device and emulator
error: more than one device and emulator
[*] Rebooting device...
error: more than one device and emulator
[*] Waiting for phone to reboot.
error: more than one device and emulator
[*] Phase two...
error: more than one device and emulator

So on and so forth. I've tried a factory reset, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, removing and re-adding any associated devices in my device manager. Nothing works.

And as a side note, when it claims to be doing something, (ie: rebooting the phone) nothing happens.

Any help would be vastly appreciated.

EDIT: Figured it out. Apparently the Bluestacks App Player causes a conflict with emulation. So for anyone else who experiences this, just uninstall Bluestacks or any other emulators from your computer and you're good to go.

Some people have had to uninstall all the updates for Smart Actions. That may be your issue

Just FYI, I uninstalled all smart actions updates and used MTP mode instead of mass storage. Failed 4 times before I did this, then worked flawlessly.

Guilty. Moved to the RAZR MAXX after a long struggle with the Bionic. Very happy with it.
