After the root is complete, how do I get rid of the factory apps like facebook and kindle? Also, does the appearance not change at all?

The only appearance change is you will now have the SuperUser app in your app drawer. You can download and app like titanium backup with root permissions and use it to uninstall bloatware

Super user is installed and in my app drawer but Titanium says i'm not rooted and my "su" command did not work. Where do I track utilities.

Nope and neither does this one. You need Matt's 1.82 utility for ICS root.

Have I done any harm by going through with the JB root? Thanks BTW

Nah I doubt it. Worst case you can use the above Utility to fastboot back to stock ICS. Which you will need to do if you want to install the JB leak. Which is what this thread is root for.

NP Glad to help. Just want to get you where you want to go as painlessly as possible :)

My guess would be that you moved apps to your sd card and the link is getting lost when you plug in via USB, which is "normal". If thats the case, choices include using an app like Link2SD or instead of using USB try the app AirDroid to transfer over wifi.

I believe at that point your Phone is requesting superuser permissions. So wake you display up and check that.

I tried it on a different computer and I got superuser so there is something up with my computer thinking there are 2 devices and emulators.

Now I'm rocking jellybean and I just finished installing a custom rom.

Guys,

I will really need help on this one. My company is trying to stick it to us! We use GOOD technologies as an enterprise server for emails/address books/calendars. To get GOOD to work I even gave up my unlimited data!

Now my company is saying that anyone that has a rooted phone can't use GOOD and must go back to using a blackberry. A BLACKBERRY!!! I called GOOD and they confirmed they have the ability to see whether I am rooted or not.

I don't want to go back to a BB! Is there any way to disguise my phone's rootiness?

Any help would be apprieciated

If you are running superuser you can use voodoo ota root keeper to back up root then temp unroot when using the email client. If you are using SuperSu there is a temp unroot option available also but not sure if you have to buy the pro or not to use it. Superuser app does have a temp unroot option if you swipe to the left screen but I personally haven't used it. The bad thing is you will have to temp unroot when using the email client then restore root/uncheck temp unroot in some cases when you are done. Might be a little tedious lol.
