Thanks Rick. Total user error on my part. Found and fixed.

One Note, after the change, i open foxfi to use it, turn it on and the phone reboots. probably a app issue, Not a big deal cause the other app i have for wireless tether works fine. just a fyi.

Here is the app that i am using now to tether:

Phone is still going crazy with the com.motorola.process.system Force Closes after I patched settings.db for the free tethering...
Any ideas on how to get these boxes to stop!?

Would some kind soul do me the enormous favor of emailing this file to me? I'm guessing since it's a script that it's not huge. This Vulnfactory host is blocked for me and I cant find the zip anywhere else.

Thanks in advance!

Quick question when i used this root i decided not to go into smart actions to save the battery saver just tryed without it... after root went thru i uninstalled and removed smart actions from phone totally and the root still is working fine i reset cache and still is working fine Question is what is the reason for this? should i have not did this? ..........By the way great work on the this JB exploit ive been waiting for this for this for what seems forever very much appreciated thank you.

I just saw this thread 5 minutes ago, so I might be wrong, but I think the only reason you need SA on your phone at the time you're rooting is because Dan found a hole in SA through which he was able to obtain root. Once rooted, you can get rid of SA.

First of all, thanks Dan!! Donation coming your way. Second, please forgive my complete ignorance on the subject as i am a noob, but i love my maxx and although i think it would make a very handsome paperweight, i'd rather not turn it into one just yet so i'm probably being overly cautious. i haven't flashed any roms yet because i'm still doing the research and trying to educate myself on the subject as much as possible before jumping in over my head. my question is this: if i sideloaded jb and still have the file on my sd card, and i flash a custom rom, can i just reload the original jb file to go back to stock (as if i'll want to after playing with the awesome roms out there), or is there a different process that i just haven't been able to find? Thanks again, Dan, for the hard work and determination!!

if you use safestrap 3.11 you save stock rom to stock slot, then you can flash roms on other slots,to go stock rom just select
