Did you try factory reset? That seems to be solving a lot of problems. Also, you may want to go into smart actions and uninstall the updates to that app.

Dan (

), great frickin job brah. I tried to break into this and you found an awesome back door. Something I would have never found.

All, its very easy to say thanks, but for all his efforts, do the right thing and at least send $5 bux for a beer. Everyone's time is valuable, and money changing hands is the best compliment for his work -

I too had to uninstall the smart actions updates to get this to work.

I am currently still on ICS running the dual boot program and using JB Roms exclusively. Would it make that much difference if I go back to ICS then do the OTA update and run this root program for JB? Just wondering if it's worth it or not.
P.S. Thank you Dan.

Would it be possible to enable the Wifi tethering entitlement hack into this process somehow?

I can't browse or edit com.motorola.android.providers.settings in Jellybean anymore even with the phone rooted.

Is it supposed to take a really long time to "Clean Up"? I have SuperSU in my apps list on my phone now, but the command prompt window has been saying Cleaning Up for 10 minutes or so now.

Worked perfectly after a couple of trys. Make sure you are in MTP, uninstall all updates from "SmartActions" and clear all app data.

Mine took only a couple of minutes, then the phone rebooted a final time.

I'm now getting "com.motorola.process.system" force close errors every few minutes.
Any ideas on how to get rid of them?

Dan, Thanks for all your hard work. I wasnt able to keep my root when jumping on the JB wagon. Was just missing my wifi tether the most... and As much as my wife hates Android she always loves connecting onto my wifi and running her iCrap 4s.

BTW. the cleaning part towards the END was the only part that took the longest out of the whole process. Worked flawlessly.

The trick worked for me on JB rooted. Its on field 79 I believe, right in there. I used SQLite.
