When I clear the cache and data from Smart Actions and I go to complete the steps the only option is to set a custom and I can't complete the steps. Sorry if I missed the resolution somewhere.
There are sample ones somewhere. Maybe hit menu.

Doesn't seem to matter what I do, get the same errors everytime. Was rooted before I got the 4.1.2 update but for whatever reason this just isn't working

I would love to help but I just tried to make sense of that for 10 minutes and failed. I have no clue what you are asking.
My guess would be he is wanting to know if it will work if there are 3rd party apps installed or if it has to be factory blank.

Best you can do is try it. If you follow the instructions to a T then it should work however some people have no been able to do it and have HAD to factory reset/Fastboot back to stock and then it works. We always try to cover all the issues and try and get it to work first. Fastboot is the last ditch option

Very frustrated. Tried everything in the thread except reset which I really don't want to do. Can't uninstall any smart action updates cause its not even an option. Can't update it either. Don't know whats wrong. All drivers are up to date. And yes I have 4.1.2

As long as you have clear SA data, USB debugging on, MTP USB mode. If you are still getting errors you will need to Fastboot back to stock before rooting. Sorry guys.

What do you mean smart actions updated today? From the play store? Or from installing JB OTA?? Did you clear DATA on SA?? All else fails you can use the Utility posted a couple above to fastboot back to stock and then immediately root
