Search for the boot logo utility and flash one of them. You can also flash a empty radio image but the boot logo changer is probably easier.

Most of us dont use BMM in this forum, we use SS....so flash with SS, or youre on your own to some degree with BMM

You need to flash the empty radio in Fastboot mode not SS

Only thing I can add that I haven't seen mentioned(could've missed it):To solve problem of Smart Action trying to auto update I put my phone in airplane mode during the root process.

Sorry still not home. Try this utility to flash a custom boot logo. Will clear up the fastboot flash failure.

it says that it doesn't have the permissions to create data/logger directory. It also can not find the /system/bin/sh: su: directory. I am performing this on a Mac, but from what i see their shouldn't be any issues with this. I have the latest moto-drivers installed, and I am running 4.1.2 98.72.8.xt912.Verizon.en.US
i should've rooted before I installed the update, but i was impatient and thought i could just use this exploit to root afterwards. Does anyone know of a solution to this problem

Sorry, Did a factory Data reset and all is better now.
Also, I've found that it doesn't matter if you have other smart actions enabled (it saved the ones i had through backup assistant), just so long as battery saver is enabled

Glad you got it figured out. A factory data reset usually fixes those issues. Enjoy!
