How this is at all good for the community?

I thought the point of the development community was to have things other than standard android. This cuts out all options, does it not? If Google keeps moving in this direction and "taking over" all development communities, it would just be Google's OS and nothing else, correct? I enjoy getting on the forums and seeing what new creations the community has put out. To see the different options and ideas you geniuses have concocted. Sounds like a horrible option to me...but then again I'm just a user, not a developer. Correct me if I'm wrong please.

And sorry if this isn't in the right forum. Move or close if needed. I just needed to get that out because this enrages me.

Take a close look at the date of the post. 01 April 2015 should give you a clue. April Fools!
