■ Be rooted w/ a custom recovery

  ■ Download EXODUS & Gapps

■ Reboot to Recovery

■ Wipe (Full wipe if coming from another Rom)

■ Flash the Rom

■ Flash the Gapps

■ Reboot to System

■ Setup and Reboot System

These directions are not necessary after the first install if you use the Exodus Updater, included in the ROM.  

It can notify you of updates, download, and install them for you automatically.

5.1.1 builds added to the download folder; keep in mind they are experimental as of now. New features are being added, old things are being forward-ported back in, so they will definitely be a work in progress for some time!

Official builds are....official!  New build system, awesome custom features you won't see in ANY other custom ROM!

 

The UNOFFICIAL builds I post are built from the official Team Exodus source, which is comprised of several private repos.  I have not implemented the dark UI....YET.  But it is coming.  Keep in mind that this ROM is built for stability and performance, using the features and options WE choose to add.

I've started reading the change log of the nightlys for my phone. Not that I really understand what most or any of it means but does it list all the changes for all devices? And if there is a change that isn't device specific like if it says framework/Exodus or something like that, those changes are the ROM as a whole including my device?

Correct...anything that isn't under a device/xxx/xxx header is a change to the ROM in general.  The changelog lists all changes incorporated into that nightly build.
