Question:

I'm currently running Liquid Smooth 2.10 and having TERRIBLE GPS troubles. It's just not sticking, and I do more driving (for work) and I have literally had to do the good ol' "print from googlemaps" trick. I'm on the JBX Kernel and not sure how to flash back to another kernel, but would really like to try out this ROM because it looks stable.

tl;dr - Don't know how to flash another kernel from jbx (noob here), and would really like to try this ROM out. Will it work? Using SS 3.11

The kernel should only be linked to that ROM and therefore only that ROM slot. You can create a new ROM slot and flash this and there shouldn't be any trouble :)

So the ROM slot that the JBX Kernel was initially flashed in was Slot1. I tried Slot2 to install this, and I got a bootloop, then nothing. However, I still get the jbx boot screen when I reboot my phone :/  So something happened where my phone is forever with jbx? Can I flash a .16 kernel from somewhere?

Sorry I'm such a noob at this :/. I'm learning though and always trying to experiment!

[Edit - add] So I used Matt's Utility to flash back to the JB OTA Update and relfashed this rom. All is well and I'm liking it :).

The boot screen from jbx will be fixed on his next jbx update. Jbx is not a permanent kernel.
So.. the same stock .16 moto kernel is running your phone. Jbx is tricking it to run off slot 1 only.

Try two things a new download and wipe the slot 2. Or just try a new download. I too have the jbx boot screen but like when I had my droid x use to change it alot. But its just a picture stating who manufactured your phone.

I'm having trouble with Text messaging FC'ing...  I am using SS 3.60, but that is the only version that has EVER been installed on this phone so I ignored the warning in the OP.  Any suggestions out there?

Love Aviator Blur, BTW!

I guess you don't have data either? I would boot into stock and manually delete the safe strap folder. I know you said you have only has 3.60, but I would try it :)

I actually just reflashed everything and wiped my phone clean to put this in Slot 1 (Tried Rage in slot 2...). I didn't realize that was a minor bug with jbx, but everything is running ridiculously smoothly now. Thanks bradge24.

Question (if you can answer). Do I need to stay off the jbx kernel now with this ROM? Because I have never used this, and I'm sticking with this for a long time because I have yet to find a stable 4.2/3 ROM

[Edit] Also, I'm thinking I'm doing something wrong every time I flash a different ROM. Not just this one. I always lose GPS signal and it's never locked on...I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Jbx is only for non moto based ROMs. Except for one moto based one and that's still in development.
GPS can be helped locking in with an app called GPS status & toolbox.

I just installed Aviator Blur 3.07 in Slot 2 under SafeStrap 3.11, and I have no mobile data. I tried to fix it in the Settings app, but when I access mobile data Settings force closes. I went into SS and wiped cache and Dalvik, and fixed permissions, but that didn't help.

Can someone save me having to read through 66 pages of posts and tell me how to fix this?

I'll upload a 3.0.7 build with the old script. The new script should work with both 3.11 and 3.60, but I'll do this anyway :)

Here is v3.0.7 which will definitely work with SS3.11.

New color theme: Just a little lighter than the purple which makes it easier to read :)

Don't be going all interior decorator, now. 'Violet' is good, though. You start theming with 'meadow sunrise green' crap, I'll come down there with a giant basic-colors box of crayons! ;-P LOL
