And no, don't mess around with the permissions when installing. After you have selected your ROM slot, select install and install zip.

I believe the volume extra key you were mentioning is a 4.2+ thing. I'm not planning on incorporating it into Aviator Blur, but if you want it, check out Aviator CM10.1 (click on the picture on the OP)

As for hangouts crashing, does it happen regularly? If so, I can take you through getting a log report which will help me determine the problem. If you are interested, send me a PM and I'll talk you through it :)

Thank you again for the info.  I'll try the dirty flash now.  If it goes poorly then I'll just wipe the slot and install 3.0.4.

I'm wearing of trying the CM ROM's as my friend I am speaking of is having several fairly major issues with their phone after using it.  Granted they are using CM and not the Aviator CM (not sure what the differences are here) but I was just nowhere near as dazzled with how everything worked in CM over your Aviator Blur.

Alright.

Dirty flash has seemed to work (kinda).  With the new camera app I was told that the volume rocker could be used to take a picture and I am not able to do so.  Also the photosphere is "not supported".  Thats the message I'm getting.

Photosphere won't work since its a hardware issue to do with the gyroscope. And this 4.2 camera app isn't coded for the volume rocker to take pictures.

Some people prefer other camera apps to this 4.2 one. There are plenty available on the play store and there might be one that will work with the volume rocker, but its just a matter of finding it :)

Whats the difference between the CM10.1 and the Aviator CM10.1?  The small little things like LED notifications, photosphere, volume settings selections...are these on your CM10.1?  Will CM10.1 run as friggin fast as this Aviator Blur because I REALLY like how fast this ROM has made my phone.  Not trying to talk bad about this ROM here at all...just trying to educate myself.

Aviator CM10.1 is normal CM tweaked with more or less the same Aviator tweaks. So it should be faster and get better battery life than stock CM. The battery life will be slightly less than Aviator Blur. The benefits are that it is based in 4.2.2 so you have all of those features. There are still a few bugs, but the Aviator CM10.1 OP talks through them pretty well.

If you want the LED to change color on Aviator Blur, download Light Flow LED manager from the playstore. :)

Thank you again for the information!

I tried the Light Flow and the free version is super limited so I got frustrated :(.  I mean I LIKE having the LED customization but if I can get that somewhere else for free...ehhh...I know I sound like a cheap rear end but thats kinda how it felt.

Maybe I'll try out the Aviator CM10.1 and see how it goes.  I can always just swap back to this one if it ends up being too glitchy.  In your honest opinion which of the two do you prefer and why?  Always great to hear it from the developers mouth :)

I switch between Aviator Blur and Aviator CM10.1 regularly. I probably tend to use Cm10.1 more though. The WiFi tether on CM can be a little buggy at times so when it plays up, I switch to Blur so I can tether (4G is faster than the WiFi at the hotels we stay at).

And of course I've put my current Aviator Blur on ROM Slot 1 and CM10.1 says it requires ROM slot 1.  See its small stuff like this that makes me nervous moving stuff around.

You can backup the ROM slot and then restore it to a different ROM slot :)

I'm on 3.53 and all the Stock based roms I've tried flashing have failed for me on the virtual rom slots saying, E:Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard-ext/rom zip name here' then Error flashing zip '/sdcard-ext/rom zip name here' I haven't tried flashing this rom yet but saw this post thought I'd let you know. I've tried switching the updater binary from the cm10.2 builds that flash for me to the Stock based roms but I still get the same error.

Not being a developer, I will just ask the question:

How difficult would it be to put 'screenshot' in the Power menu for a 'future release'?

It's the only real thing I miss from other ROMS or AOPK...

And I've had hit and miss luck with 3rd party apps for this.

I'm not dumping the ROM because of this; its the ROM with the THE FASTEST GPS satellite lock I've ever run and for me that makes it worth it.

If this is something that requires 10,000 lines of code to implement then forget it...

Not terribly hard, but volume down + power does that same thing. I find that easiest :p

I am looking for a tester to test a possible fix to the Safestrap 3.5x issues. I don't have 3.5x myself and will not be switching anytime soon (I don't really have the time right now). This will either install or have the same errors as before so it shouldn't ruin anything, but you can insert the standard disclaimer here :p

Is anyone interested? PM me if you are! :)
