AOKP ROM

 

For some reason every few calls I receive (maybe 1 out of 5) the phone vibrates but the screen stays black until a phone has stopped working error pops up. I wiped flushed and washed my hands during install twice and four times during my second install to be sure it was clean but the issue is still there, I have to restary my phone to get it to make and receive calls 

again. Any help or anyone else having this issue?

Do you think you could post a list of the ones you have come up with or the ones that you actually use? I'm thinking about getting tasker but I'd like to know that I'm going to get the right benefits out of it.

I've been on Aviator AOKP for a couple of days now and I have to say this is by far the best AOKP or CM based rom that I have tried, the only problem I have seen so far was a random reboot within the first few hours of flashing and then the very rare screen hang for just a second.  I did have problems when I first flashed where after reboot I just got a black screen it would never make it to the boot animation, I had to delete both rom slot 1 and 2 and then recreate them both and then restore slot 1 and reflash rom slot 2 with AOKP.  After that I have been flying high with no turbulence

Thanks for the ROM ZKK007.  Loving this ROM.  All of this talk about tasker reminded me of the one issue I'm having on the rom.  It does not trigger vehicle mode when I plug it into the dock.  If I recall, this is an issue with AOKP - but I wanted to mention that I've used tasker as a workaround to solve it.  I have tasker turn on bluetooth whenever I'm charging.  Once bluetooth turns on - my phone will automatically connect to my car stereo (without tasker - it just does that).  I have tasker set to initiate everything I normally do when docked (gps on - wifi off - switch to voice keyboard - launch carhome ultra) as soon as it sees the connection to my car stereo.  Once it stops charging, I have it wait 5 minutes to turn off bluetooth just in case I'm finishing off a call or listening to a song.

 

The downside of this is my charging will go a little slower with bluetooth always on, but it's a small price to pay - especially since I have a Maxx and only struggle with juice if I forget to charge at night.  Anyway thanks again for the ROM!

I could export my profiles and post up a link this weekend, but basically I use secure settings plugin for tasker which has a trigger called failed login attempts set it to 3, then have tasker turn all volumes to 0, then create a task to take photo, select to take with the front camera, check the box for discrete. Then create a task to compose an email select to attach the photo that you just took.

It has been a while since I set this up but there was a reason that I had to do the next steps I just don't remember what it was, maybe tasker can't send emails, I just don't remember.

But I have a task after I compose the email to wait 5 seconds then kill the app gmail and use root. So what happens is the email gets saved in your drafts which you can access anywhere.

I know my instructions are not the best so I'll try to upload the profiles this weekend.

After wiping everything to the point of having to reinstall safestrap i belive the issue is fixed. I am loving this ROM.

Here is a link to some of the profiles and tasks that I use.  If you just want the security profiles then just import the project StolenPhone.  You will have to input your own password and email and your own secret text message that will trigger the profiles.

Some of my profiles are dependent on some tasks so if you import a profile and it is not working correctly make sure you imported all correlating tasks.

aokp doesn't run well on my phone, i've tried several and something was always broken. i tried yours, and found the pull down toggles had disappeared, so i restored my nandroid of 3.0.2. still lovin' that though, incidently you ever figure out simple batt for sunset - maybe you updated your utillity and i missed it?

AOKP does not have the slim pull down toggles. Instead it has 4.2.2 toggles which can be accessed by pressing the top button on the notification pull down window. You can also add and remove tiles under settings.

Been running the AOKP version for the last couple of days on my MAXX, and its been running great !

 

Is it possible to use the messaging app from the stock Moto ROM on the AOKP version ? I find that composing messages on the AOKP app only lets me see about 1 line of the text at a time, and it makes composing a longer message difficult for me. On the Moto app, I was able to see more of the message when composing.

The simple battery for sunset theme was never added into the utility. I think I have it somewhere but won't be able to upload it for a few days.

It is possible to get the slim toggles on AOKP, under settings go to

settings>rom control>toggles>toggle style>scrollable or traditional

And you can customize them just like you can the tiles.

I have been using AviatorAOKP with Byte's Kernel (originally with R4) R5 for about a week. This was the first time I've ever installed/used an AOKP ROM and also the first time I've flashed a custom kernel over a ROM and I have to say this is one of the best ROM and kernel combinations ever! The ROM works flawlessly I have yet to find one bug or malfunctioning application, also battery life on this ROM is phenomenal even with my CPU clocked to 1.25Mhz on a full charge it lasted from 5pm till 7am with still just under half of the battery life remaining. That's longer than stock! This ROM is fast, smooth, and efficient. I highly recommend this ROM and Byte's kernel to anyone looking for a great AOKP experience.
