Anyone using Go SMS with this ROM? I'm having an issue as to whether the built in "Text" messenger receives and notifies of new messages or randomly Go SMS actually receives and notifies of new messages. I've tried disabling the built in text messenger with TIBU but this only results in the inability to receive picture messages.

I use Go SMS notifications and simply turn off stock SMS notifications. So my popup window and notification bar are Go SMS. Hope this helps.

Thanks and I've tried that and missed some messages because Go SMS won't always alert me for some reason. It's hit and miss...

Hmmmm.....I don't recall it skipping messages for me. Do you use the popup window? It shows me how many messages are unread.

ZK, about this being ready to be a release candidate - let me tell you a little story.
A couple of weeks ago I was sent out of town for training, but at the same time I was in the middle of a major project at work that was in user testing. I knew that I need to be in constant contact with work. My phone HAD to work, my corporate email HAD to connect reliably, and because I couldn't guarantee access to power, it needed to be thrifty on battery.
So what did I do? - nothing...
I was already running Aviator, and I knew that it could do everything I needed it to. :)

Simply turn off auto retrieve and notifications in the stock app.

Here's my issue: After the boot up sounds of the jet taking off...I lose all sounds, notifications, music, ringtones, talking apps, everything. I'm looking for anyone with a similar issue, lacking that, moral support, lol. Seriously, any help appreciated. Signal strength is great on this ROM.

Edit: I figured it out...I had both Apollo and Google Music in my apps and I think they were conflicting with each other. I deleted Google Music and my sounds are back! WooHoo!

I use Tasker to turn on and off WiFi, Bluetooth, and data when I leave and arrive at home. I found that adds a few hours to total time :)

What would happen if I deleted my stock ROM and installed this in its place?

Lol well I mean I would of course make a backup of it first. I got all the things I need to in brick my phone should it come to that. Already bricked it once he he. I was just wanting to know if removing the stock and installing this ROM in its place, would it still boot up with the new aviator ROM. Or will it brick it? I'd love to totally get rid of the stock ROM and just keep a backup on computer should I need it in the future.

IF, and by if I mean I really don't recommend you do it, but if you're inclined to do it, if you take a nandroid of your stock side before you do it, please make that you don't have a backup of root on your stock side using something like Voodoo OTA RootKeeper or whatever super user program you are using. The way it works, Safestrap will not be able to restore the attributes on your root backup, and you will end up with a ROM that doesn't work properly. It is not fatal, and is recoverable (speaking from personal experience here), though it is a massive pain in the rear end. So, remove / delete your root backup on your stock side, take a nandroid, then do what you wish to your stock side, though I still recommend using the slots in Safestrap instead. Also, if you're going to use a nandroid from a different slot to restore your stock from, make sure it doesn't contain a root backup, either. You'll thank me for it.

Thanks for the heads up! I (now being a little intimidated) will have to give that a try haha. I'll just install a clean start from scratch Aviator ROM on stock.

Would anyone be so kind to explain how I can restore the default droid boot anim for aviator ROM? The aviator one looks cool and all but I can't handle the roller coaster ride. Makes me dizzy watching this thing go flying up like a crazy pilot :3

Edit: or even having the regular boot with the memory check and just a aviator logo without the plane trip?

You can do a number of things....you can delete the boot ani file and you will have nothing during boot. You can replace the boot ani with another, stock or otherwise and use that boot ani instead. If you place a bootanimation.zip file into the /data/local folder with permissions of rw-r-r it will use that one instead of the one in /system/media
