Thanks for the feedback. There is no reason to ever quote the Original post. It just clogs up the thread. Fixed it for ya.

I just want to start by saying Thank You ZKK007!!!

I have just gotten done installing and setting up this ROM and all I have to say is WOW you did a FANTASTIC job!

This is by FAR the most stable ROM available here on DroidRzr Forums! I have tried JellyWiz, Triple Core, and Evolution as well as a few others. Everyone is doing great a great job and yours seems to do even better!

So far as I can tell, there has only been two issues and I have already corrected one of them through troubleshooting and I will show you guys how to correct it as well! After this you will find my thoughts on this ROM

Feel free to correct me or share your imputs as well!

Issues:
- Beats Audio Functionality (Using Google Play Music) [SOLVED]
- No-Frills CPU Control Issues (Attempting 1325 MHz Overclock)

NOTE:
When you first install this ROM, I recommend doing a Dalvik Cache and Cache wipe at the install screen before first reboot, then after setting up phone and before doing ANYTHING else, disable any SIM card security and screen lock (Swipe screen lock is default and it is much better setting up without it) and reboot again (I found that having no security helps superuser allow permissions easier and reading/writing system files is easier without security as well, we will re-enable these settings later!). Then, reboot a THIRD time and go into SafeStrap, then perform a permissions fix on the Aviator ROM Slot. Then reboot one last time.

Doing all these extra steps ensures that the ROM functions at 100% and setting up all the mods and personal customizing will be much easier!

Beats Ausio Issue:
When you first install this ROM, you will notice that the Beats Audio Control doesn't seem to do anything to the sound as you change different settings in the app. There is a very simple reason for this: The stock Audio Effects App (Audio Effects.apk under system apps) overrides the Beats Audio automatically as well as the Drivers for the Beats Audio Contol must be installed for them to work properly.

Here is how you correct this problem:
1.) Download an application capable of removing system applications (I enjoy Motomizer Expert Edition by J.Y. Daddy)
2.) Download an application capable of backing up system applications (Again, I use Motomizer)
3.) Backup "Audio Effects.apk"
4.) COMPLETELY uninstall and remove "Audio Effects.apk"
5.) Download "Beats Audio Installer *Root" (First result when you search "Beats") from Google Play
6.) Install the Beats Installer application
7.) Run the Beats Installer Application and follow instructions
8.) When your device reboots, you will have to run the Beats Installer Application and follow instructions again (SuperUser Permissions error on first try)
9.) When your device reboots the second time, you will find that the Beats Audio Contol no longer crashes when opening Google Play Music and if you access "Equalizer" settings from Google Play Music, it will take you to Beats Control and the App will now do its job.

All Done :)

No Frills CPU Control Issue:
So far as I can tell certain Governors arent working as well as my settings are not successfully being applied at boot... When running SmartAssV2 or PegasusQ Governors, you will find after the reboot; or if you check the settings after allowing the phone to idle for over 15 minutes, that the min frequency stays at 320MHz (On 1325 MHz Overclock from Aviator Utility), but the max frequency resets to "1.2 GHz" (1200 MHz). If you reapply the settings, it seems that they work but again if you reboot or idle too long it will reset itself.

Here is how you correct this problem:
I am attempting troubleshooting as I post this message. I am going to try enabling the "CPU Sleeper" and see if that has any effect. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know!

My Personal Thoughts On This ROM:
Positives:
- Beautifully smooth and fast homescreen and great themes available!
- Performance is best in its class without a doubt (Class = JB ROMs on Droid Razr or Droid Razr MAXX)
- Many useful Stock Apps are actually kept and included (Smartactions, Google Play and Play Music, ect.)
- Good Overclocking profiles to choose from as well as many Governors
- Custom Boot animation WITH sound

Negatives:
- Beats Audio issue is a real pain to deal with and resolve
- Not sure if my Overclocking Profile is working correctly
- Phone will crash and rebbot ocassionally when running benchmarks on custom CPU profiles to test stability (Seems to be Certain Governors that cause This)

I will be pushing a donation your way soon and hope to see more great work!!!

Thanks for the detailed feedback! I appreciate you taking the time to write it down and post it here. I will go through all of this today and try fix the issues you mentioned. :)

With the governors and the like, I added them into the ROM just to make them available to you. I know some of them have issues with deep sleep and other kernel related issues, but for the most part they are there for people to test and use. I set it up with hotplug and sio since I found that to be the best combination at the moment. :)

Again, thanks for the feedback!

I should add, I'm waiting to see what happens with the soak test before I put out the next update so the issues you bring up might not be fixed until we see and official JB release :)

Ok, I tried this method using Root Explorer and renaming Audio Effects.apk to Audio Effects.bak and rebooted then proceeded to download and follow the directions for Beats Installer. I've run it 3x now as the 2nd time still produced a "Beats Audio error" Upon opening Google Play Music. Any ideas? I would like to get my "Beats" working correctly.

Same here for me. May uninstall Beats altogether and then reinstall....

Ooops, the messaging app. I tried to uninstall it and then restoring the app only through Titanium BU but still nothing.

Installed and appeared to work but sound is like I have no equalizer on. I went into setting and adjusted but no effect. When I try to go through system settings it force closes Beats now. Should have left alone.

So you want the MMS.apk back? You can pull it from the ROM you downloaded and try installing that. It is located under /system/app/Mms.apk :)

I wasn't aware Beats wasn't working?? It works fine for me, but when you use equalizer settings and do the skip track with the volume key, the volume goes to full. I am aware of that issue :P but if you don't use the volume key to skip tracks then it should work OK.

So is beats working on stock (ie don't mess with it)?

I ended up re-installing 2.0.1 overtop my existing installation with just cache & dalvik wipes and beats is back but not really functional. When I test it in Google Play Music and toggle the different options using the Equilizer, there are no apparant effects or changes to the music track whilst playing. ???

Alright, so in my trying to get Beats working, what I am noticing is the files permissions are all over the place. So I have a sneaky suspicion that may be the problem. Another thing is in the ZIP file that I downloaded, I notice that there are files in folders that dont exist on my phone. For example: the zip has a folder structure of /system/etc/audio with files in the audio folder. However, on the phone I do not have the audio folder and those files are in etc.

Still trying to piece it all together....and since this seems to be a problem on other ROM's, dont think its exclusive to Aviator.

I was trying to find my original Beats download but it got lost (I probably deleted it :P ) I have a few things to test when I get around to it. These next few weeks are going to be busy for me as I study for an important job interview later this month, amongst other things. I'm also waiting to see if an official JB is released soon as that will most likely mean a complete rebuild of the ROM. I have also been looking into a replacement audio equalizer for the next complete build. But I will gladly listen to suggestions :)

No worries by me ZKK. I wont be doing anything major until an official release anyway. I think Ac!d uses the Beats driver, but whatever equalizer works is good.

Thanks for the detailed feedback! I appreciate you taking the time to write it down and post it here. I will go through all of this today and try fix the issues you mentioned. :)

No problem you are very welcome! I am very happy to help you in your development in any way possible! Besides, despite the issues this is by far the best ROM on DroidRzr!!! How in the world did you get the home screen area to run so perfectly? Its so smooth, fast and flawless that it rivals the TouchWiz home on my friend's new Samsung Galaxy Note II!!!

On another note yes I can see how the Kernels could be a problem. Since the OTA Jelly Bean Leak isnt official, the Kernels may not be 100% built and stable as of yet. I am very curious to see your results after the Official Update is relased as well!

I also found that Hotplug is a very stable Governor on your ROM. For me, its between Hotplug and Interactive. These two seem to be by far the most stable running.

Ok, I tried this method using Root Explorer and renaming Audio Effects.apk to Audio Effects.bak and rebooted then proceeded to download and follow the directions for Beats Installer. You could be experiencing these problems because while its true that renaming the .apk to .bak will basically get rid of it, it doesnt remove the other files associated with the system app. I am sure there is more than just the .apk in there.

When I used Motomizer to remove it, it definately said it was deleting more than one file. Try using an application to remove it.

EDIT:
Also, remember to run the Beats Audio installer TWICE. For some odd reason, on the first try, SuperUser will prompt you AS the phone reboots and it is impossible to catch it before the device turns off. This very may well be the source of the error. After the first prompt though, SuperUser will save the permissions and on the next try and actually be able to edit/replace the necessary files.

Lol, I quit being patient after about 10 minutes and still counting so reflashed 2.0.1 and starting over wondering if I should be using the AOSP Ac!d drivers instead of "stock rom" ??? Gonna try that methinks just for sh!ts and giggles.

I coudn't find any non-paid apps to accomplish this in my search and I hate paying for motimizer extreme or whatever just for this one usage :P
