as far as a bad download I did check the md5 and that was correct but i will try againYou may have a bad download...Try to download it again and delete the ROM slot completely and remake it. Also once you're done go into the advance and fix permissions.

You will not need to wipe, I made an update zip to flash on top of Blackbird or Concord.
PM me for details

I deleted my rom slot and recreated it then tried a different rom slot that hadn't been used before then redownloaded the 1.0.9 file thinking I had a bad download, and I deleted my rom slot and recreated it and got the exact same thing everytime.
Thanks for your help. I can't wait for the blacked out calendar that is the only thing I have been missing with this rom!!

Hey, I am having a problem with 1.0.9, once the rom is installed it never asks me to sign in to a gmail account. It does ask me to sign in the the "email" app but not gmail, and the email app works fine when I sign in to my gmail account. Then when I go to setting>add account there is only the option to add corporate, email, and motocast, there is no option to add a gmail account. When I try to open play store or google talk or any google app that requires me to be signed into, they just close as soon as they open, they dont give a FC message or anything. Also when the rom first boots OTA Updater force closes.
If your Gapps just close on you then you have to delete the ROM slot and flash again. I know you already did this, but this is the solution. I'm not sure why this problem exists, but I know other ROMs are also experiencing a similar problem, and I am keeping an eye out for a solution.
Can I ask, did you get an "OTA Updater has failed" or something along those lines when the phone first booted? If you did then that is a sign that it did not flash correctly and usually you will also have the gapps problem

I am not for sure but that sounds like what it says when I first boot (OTA Updater has failed), then it wants you to click ok. So do you think I should just keep deleting the Rom slot and reflashing until it works?
Just delete the ROM slot and then recreate it. That should be enough and then you should be able to flash. But if you see that first OTA problem then try again. Sorry I can't suggest anything else

Anyone having an issue installing Instagram on Blackbird 1.0.9? It says device not compatible. Perhaps I missed a post on this? Everything else seems great so far!
Did you have any problems in when installing the ROM? I just installed and uninstalled Instagram from the Play Store on my phone with no problems. Have you tried to manually download the app and manually install it on your phone?

OK, I downloaded 1.09 to a NEW slot, wiped, wiped and wiped as suggested in instal instructions. Been 20+ minutes waiting on setup. Stuck for now??
What do you mean waiting on setup? The "Android is updating..." screen? If so, then it's a bad flash. Delete and recreate the ROM slot and try again. MBRedline has similar issues and this is what he did for it to work:
Ok thanks, I just tried again and it worked what I did differently (whether it was what made the difference or not I don't know) was after I created the Rom slot I wiped system, cache, and dalvik. then Advanced>Fix Permissions and then wiped everything again and then installed and then after installation before first boot I wiped cache and dalvik again. Like I said most of this was unnecessary but it worked.
Thanks again for your help and for an awesome Rom!!! Now I will be patiently waiting for the upgrade on the Flying Sunset Theme!!!
If this solves your issue, let me know and I will update the OP instructions to include the above method.

I aborted and it let me sign into my Google. Do I need to install the Blackbird wallpaper myself? Mine came up with the 1.07 wallpaper. I may reflash just so I know from the start that everything is correct. I didn't have to reflash as suggested previously. Wondering if I should though.
I would reflash. Something funky is going on.
I know that sometimes google will store your wallpaper (I'm guessing you were on 1.0.7 before this flash?) so that may have been in, but it is better to be safe than sorry and reflash
