A few people have reported that. Did you start with a new ROM slot in SafeStrap?

Can you describe "drastic"? I.E OG Razr with 10% drain over 1 hour standby period

Started with clean new ROM slot. Been running it for two days fine. Charged today, ran for 2.5 hrs down to 90% then dropped down to 48%. Been on for 3h 49 m total and it's at 45%. I wish I knew how to add a screen shot of battery display so you could see the sudden drop.

Ok, that is excessive :P I'm guessing you ran the battery calibration too?

Hmm... to make a screenshot, hold down the power and vol down key. It will save it to your internal sd under the "Pictures" folder. Can you please take a screenshot and post it? :)

When I installed the ROM my battery was around 50%. I don't know if that has anything to do with the problem or not. Should I charge to 100%, wipe everything and reinstall?

it can't hurt to do that.... but, its really not necessary to charge to 100% to flash a ROM...... if you just flashed like today or yesterday, it may take a couple days for the ROM to "settle in" ...... to really get an accurate battery life "reading" i would charge to 100%..... then calibrate battery...... let it drain to less than 10%..... then recharge....... not saying that it is a cure-all but you should get a more accurate reading.... after that if your battery is still kinda crappy then we can look at other "options".... :)

Ok guys, I don't want to be confusing so let me explain:

I have released v1.0.9 "Blackbird Edition."

Do you NEED to update? Well, no, unless you want the look/theme and the Quick Reply feature of the ASOP MMS.apk (text messaging)

What are the differences between Concord and Blackbird?
Blackbird is based off Concord and does NOT contain any performance or battery tweaks. It's biggest changes are in the look as you will see by the screenshots. Why couldn't I just put out an updater zip you ask? Well, Blackbird has ASOP MMS.apk in it. I removed Messaging.apk from the ROM. A flash over zip would leave you with two messaging apps. (A fresh ROM also gives our crackflashers something to do ;) ) Also, Blackbird is officially Aviator v1.0.9 meaning that further development will be based on Blackbird.

I hope that explains it :) Enjoy :)

I never received an email? To add an attachment to the post, click "more reply options" and then you will see a place to attach files.

This shouldn't affect the flash at all. A flash might solve it, but I cannot say for sure. If the problem continues, then yes I would reflash. You can always try "Blackbird edition" which I just put in the OP. I didn't make any battery changes so it shouldn't make any difference.

It explains the difference, but ... left me puzzled as to why the performance and battery tweaks were dumped. I've gotten outstanding battery life on Concord, so plan to just freeze the OTA updater and stay on Concord v1.0.8 as Blackbird (at least to me) seems to be a step down just to get the ASOP MMS.

SORRY! I mean, it does not have any EXTRA performance or battery tweaks on top of Concord! :P It is the exact same as Concord other than the ASOP MMS, inverted calendar, the semi transparency, and other theme difference.

I hope that clarifies :)

Did you wipe and recreate the ROM slot before flashing?

You may have a bad download...Try to download it again and delete the ROM slot completely and remake it. Also once you're done go into the advance and fix permissions.
