Good Morning,

So my Turbo decided to slip out of my pocket and land on a rock.  Of course this means the screen broke and is now black, cannot see any icons etc.

I am getting my replacement today, but was wondering if anyone knew of methods to transfer photos, texts, call logs etc without moto migrate.  The phone of course still turns on, and I can unlock the screen, but other than that, I am at a loss.  Thought maybe there was a micro usb to micro usb tethering kind of option or program out there.

Is this something I might be able to have them do at a Verizon Store?

Many thanks

JD

If you had USB debugging enabled you should be able to hook it up to your PC and transfer everything. If not I'm pretty sure the vzw "experts" could do something for you.

Phone stores have speciality computers just for transferring data from one phone to another. Even across OS types

Photos, music, and other personal data can be transferred directly to your PC via USB cable..... As far as messages go... If you use google hangouts, all of your messages will reappear as soon as you sign into your Google account on new device. SMS and MMS however are completely different, and [most of the time] require 3rd party software to transfer them to another device.... If rooted (and USB debugging is on) you can pull the database that contains the SMS and MMS to your PC via command line (or terminal)

Thanks for all the replies guys.  I was able to get the pictures, and ringtones onto the new phone.  I just realized though, that with the broken screen, I have no way of wiping phone.  I tried using motorola's online protect my phone wiping procedure, but it cannot locate it for some reason.  Is there other way of performing a hard reset, when you have no usable screen?

You can always do a full fxz on the phone using Sam's house of moto or Rsdlite.... That will erase everything and restore the phone to 100% out-of-the-box stock....

There is root on the turbo but not unlocking.  I would hang on for a couple months before you buy a new phone.  The 2015 models are coming out and there are some interesting things going on.  Like the rumored return of the sd card support. Now that Sandisk has released a 200 GB sd card, will push some intrest again.  The N6 is dropping in price and is almost the same phone as the turbo as far as processor and ram and can be unlocked out of the box which means never going with out root.

So, I should wait to buy one? I cannot afford a new cell phone out right. I want to keep my unlimited data so been looking at used turbos. Lg G4 has come down in price and is about the same as Turbo is. Any new news? Also, been seeing the newest is latest for the turbo on eBay. Mean anything?
