Do you think smartphones need a protective case? I bought my Galaxy S6 few days ago and still hesitating about getting a case.

Yes, they need it, they are expensive, I always run a minimal case. It offers some protection, but not as much as a full case. Full cases are too bulky for me. My case won't protect from a tall drop, but it does protect from dings and scratches. My M8 still looks brand new.

Second that. I have a Seido kickstand case on my N5, I've accidentally dropped it and the case has a couple of nicks but the device is perfect still. Also depends on what type of work you do - some swear by the Otterbox cases (too big and bulky for me).

I switch between two cases for my N6 one bulky, but very protective with belt clip, and a thin minimal case for weekends. I look for a case that has a lip the goes above the screen.
