Thanks. So, one more time: I am going to go into safestrap, create a new slot in slot one, give it say 2gb, wipe the dalvic and cache, try to get away w/o a factory reset, and boot into the rom? if it fails, I assume I can just change the stock slot back as the active and boot up from there...Just want to get it right on the first try, I promise I have been scouring the forums and XDA for detailed information on how to do this for months...I just decided to make the leap tonight. Thanks again. You are correct. You really don't have to wipe anything if you are creating a new slot, but it puts some people's mind at ease and won't hurt anything if you do.

You lost me towards the end when you say "boot into the rom", not sure if this is what you meant, but you first need to install the ROM from your external SD card, then reboot into the new ROM.Thanks. Ok thanks...Thats what I planned on doing. I meant to say that if anything failed to boot in the custom rom I can just boot back into my Stock Rom. That is correct. You shouldn't have any problems as long as you follow the directions. I am by no means an expert, but not a novice either and have never had any problems with ROMS, so you will do just fine. This is my favorite ROM and the longest I have gone without switching ROMs. You will like it.

Yes, that is normal.Well, I am taking the plunge right now. Is creating a ROM slot in slot 1 supposed to take 10+ minutes? I suppose so, as it is making progress...

Remember that the first boot can take up to 10 minutes as well.

yes.and yes....just create a rom slot and install this there...leaving stock rooted intact!Ok...first ROM install on my droid xt912 MAXX... just want to make sure I am doing things right before I proceed.
I am running the JB leak. No problems there. I am rooted. I am running safestrap v3.11. So, do I just leave the stock system slot alone, and create a new slot in custom 1, and wipe everything according to the instructions? I am very new to safestrap, and loading things on a locked bootloader like this...I could use all the help I can get. I assume that I can dual boot back to stock JB at any time with this setup too, correct me if I am wrong...
Thanks y'all

1. The notification tray at the top fails to load at boot, and takes it forever to do so.
2. random reboots when texting, or doing something cpu-intensive.
I have not changed any settings, not messed with cpu settings, and I have done permission fixes.

Ok. I found a few bugs (not sure so much bugs or operator issue..)
1. The notification tray at the top fails to load at boot, and takes it forever to do so.
2. random reboots when texting, or doing something cpu-intensive.

Sounds like a bad flash to me... I have not had one issue for about 10 hours or so. Maybe try reflashing?

Trying to change the wifi status bar icon in White Jelly theme with ROM Toolbox and am getting errors and, on restart, bootloop. Anyone got any hints on how to do this?

Don't quote me on this but I think ROM toolbox only themes aosp ROMs. I dont believe you can use it on this ROM.
