You can edit yourself if you want. Just find the line in your build.prop with a good file explorer & change the scan interval.

Put it how you like it. The rare person that needs a faster connect can either do a build.prop tweak of their own or manually connect.

RU94, good to get this feedback.

Is this a setting that is baked in, or something a saavy rom flasher can do w/some under-the-hood tweaking-

Besides being on a Maxx, I'm using Juice Defender Ultimate w/impressive results, so I'm not as concerned as others might be related to a change that is gonna add battery depletion for faster wifi connections.

However, I don't wanna mess up those who do care about battery life.

Thanks for keeping an eye open here, RU94!

In your build prop it is like max.wifi.scan.interval or something of the sort. It should be at 180 now so drop it down to whatever you want. Default is 90!

I'm sorry, I didn't read though the whole post to find my answer. If it was already asked, I apologize. After flashing, I get a blank black screen, I've let it sit for 10min but it still just hangs there? I am on the JB kernel, thanks guys!

thanks for spelling that out:

so which tool should I use to do this editing? I've always been told that the build prop file is sacrosanct - don't touch it unless you want to risk bricking your fone!

RU94, would you be kind enough to please tell me which line number contains the value that I need to change?

TIA

EDIT thanks so much jonwgee, I was still composing this msg while you had just finished posting yours…

I'm all over it now courtesy of your help!

Silvia, you just need to go into safestrap, activate a slot besides the one you've had probs with, go back & hilite the slot with Jellywiz in it & delete it & then just recreate the slot anew & after wiping all 4 install wipes, restore the nand backup you've surely made, & reboot & you should be good to go!

Good luck! This worked for me a couple / few times

jonwgee,

I noted that after changing the section you pointed out fm 180 to 90 that there was a 2nd wifi supplicant scan interval, where there was only one such line b4 & the new one has h value of 45 , any idea why that happened?

Also, I was thrown off by not b'ing able to see the status bar… in terms of functionality & speed of response…

as always, I always appreciate any help.

TIA SpyderMan

wifi seems to be considerably slower than other roms. Im using my home wifi that ive always used and I only get .5Mbps - 2Mbps on this rom and others are 5-8Mbps. I made sure avoid poor connections was unchecked and i have not touched any other settings. Idk if anyone else has noticed this.

You probably need to change your governor from hotplugx to somehting else for like the 50th time...

And how would he do that if he hasn't gotten it to boot the first time?

Well, you can go into the .zip file before it's installed and change the init.d script that sets the default governor to something other than hotplug(x). Root Browser will do it.

Brandon, log in to your Verizon account, either online on with the 'My Verizon' app. Dig around until you find where Verizon wants to send you various text message notifications, and make sure they are all off. Sorry I don't know the exact links to follow, but that'll get you started.

I have no complaints at all with this ROM... I have a newly converted RAZR Max kit... and with that and juice defender ultimate... I get 24 -28 hours.. and I am definitely a heavy user...but I have noticed that sometimes I get random black screen freezes that I have to do a manual reboot..anyone else have these issues? Other than that... this ROM is (o)Y(o) 's lol :-)
