Mods, please move this to the right part of the forum if this is incorrect.

 

Hoping someone can help me here.

 

Background: Phone randomly crashed today. Phone reboots and stays at the Moto Boot Logo and hangs. After a bit of time, the phone will reboot on its own and try to power up.

 

My phone is completely stock. No changes to it. Up to date on OTA updates. Last one was installed a few weeks back.

 

I am able to get into the Fast Boot menu.

 

I have tried to to a recovery and a factory default, neither complete. Both again, stop at the moto logo screen and hang.

 

I am able to use RSD Lite, and RSD lite does recognize my phone. I tried to reflash my phone with the details here: http://www.droidrzr....3324-maxxultra/

 

But the 2 links provided at the top of the thread return a message in red on the phone that says

 

"Downgraded Security Version" and then fails.

 

edit.. Goal is to get the phone back to its current stock loadout and working. I plan to root it at some point.. But stock is ok for now.

 

Anyone have any tips of tricks I can try?

If you got the downgraded error, then the fxz you are trying to flash I'd older than what you currently have on the phone..... House of moto thread http://www.droidrzr....use-of-moto-41/ has what you need (including links to the most recent fxz ) :)

I have faith, youl be up and running in no time..... Just remember to use the OEM Motorola cable AND plug into a 2.0 USB port or you will very likely get errors......

First time I ran House of Moto, it threw a bunch of Variable Not supported errors.

 

I powered off the phone, powered the phone back on, tried again, and I seem to be getting much better results. Its actually flashing as I type this. Says its writing to "system".. So thats a good sign.

Yep, using the factory cable, and a USB 2.0 port. No silly hubs or anything.

 

It just finished flashing and said it was successful.

 

Said no to wiping out user data.

 

Currently rebooting.

 

Do you know of way to get to the use data partitiion?

Wait for a min..... The first boot after a fxz can take a few min......

What all errors did you get?..... Can you post (copy/paste) the command window .... If you use RSDLite..... Post the swdl.txt so we can have a look

Still same result. Stuck at the Moto Logo screen.

What is interesting is in RDS lite it'll show me status messages of what the phone is doing, Right now its asking me to manually power up this phone, when I can clearly see the phone is on. Power Cycling the phone, same result.. Moto Logo Screen.

 

I'll mess with it a bit more and see what I can get it to do.

Make sure you don't kill the battery flashing.... Or you'll be in worse shape.....

I've got it plugged in this whole time. It should be ok in that aspect.

hmm.. interesting.. I cant get it to stay powered off. If hold down the power button for 10 seconds, the Moto Log shuts off, about 2 seconds later, the Moto Logo pops up.

If you're plugged into the PC ... It will try to boot automatically.....

Weird, even disconnected from the PC, its doing the same thing. Hold power down for 10 seconds, powers off, powers right back on.

Try running thru House of Moto again..... This time when it asks to flash gpt say NO...... TZ, say NO..... Copy/paste, or screenshot the output of the command window to here......
