It took me a while to figure out that I had to search the motofirmware site because the link wasn't doing it. I grabbed the correct image and started from scratch and it is now working again. Thanks for helping spainter...I appreciate the hand holding.
Now, am I correct in that if I did not unlock the bootloader before doing all this, that I cannot unlock it now? I'm not terribly dying to unlock, I just thought I would ask for clarity.

As of now there isn't a way to unlock after upgrading to the .15 version that I have heard of. I am glad to see you get your phone up and running. Good deal!

Ok, no worries. I do not actually enjoy delving into the guts of my phone. I really just want it to work flawlessy and do everything I need. Of course that doesn't always happen so sometimes I'm elbow deep in droid muck...

what about removeing the lines that contain get var oem and var inthe xml file just a thought
