Sam,
Have you ever seen these messages in the Generate.log after trying to load one of the FXZ files from motofirmware.com:
It almost sounds like it cannot find the XML in the zip file. But, I looked in the zip file, and it is there. Per the setup instructions, I did not unzip the .zip before running HouseOfMoto.jar.

Possibly you didn't follow directions, ergo, the zip is not in the right place......Sam,
Have you ever seen these messages in the Generate.log after trying to load one of the FXZ files from motofirmware.com:
Custom recovery not found.
Using factory image: VZW_XT926_4.1.2_9.8.1Q_62_VQW_MR-2_VQW_CFC.xml.zip
ERROR: XML script not found in this factory image. This is not yet supported.
It almost sounds like it cannot find the XML in the zip file. But, I looked in the zip file, and it is there. Per the setup instructions, I did not unzip the .zip before running HouseOfMoto.jar.

Maybe, but probably not that step :-). Here is where the FXZ is at: C:\HouseOfMoto\IMAGES.
I downloaded my FXZ from
as I was not able to easily find the appropriate XT926 FXZ file via the motofirmware.com link.- Dahor3six likes this

I've confirmed a very difficult to fix bug in handling some FXZ extractions. The FXZ you chose is one of those cases. It'll take some time to fix this one without breaking functionality in other FXZ extractions.

I'll try the MR-4 and see if it works instead. I think I may be out of luck anyways, because I don't see the "Ok to program" in the Fastboot menu.

MR4 works with the HoM for sure. I tested that one earlier. It's the MR2 that's the messed up case and I'm just worried that if I don't take the time to think through the logic properly it'll introduce a bug in other FXZ's that are more complicated. The code that handles the complicated cases is what's causing the bug in this one.

This bug is pissing me off. I fix it for one of my test cases it breaks others. Moto and consistency should never, in any circumstances, ever be uttered together.

Ok so... Im going to attempt this Saturday. I have an xt926 on jbbl running Validus 1/06/15 5.0.2 Lollypop, twrp 2.7.1.0. All I want to do is upgrade my bl to kk, and twrp to 2.8.4.2. The rest I can do myself (flash a new ROM and gapps).
I have all the files extracted to C: and in the folders mentioned, as well as the updated java and Moto drivers
So I am just going to follow the directions and use an fxz like VZW_XT926_4.4.2-KDA20.62-15.1_1FF.xml, which will prompt me to install twrp as well as the fxz, and thats it? I can wipe data also, as I will be installing a new 3.4/5.0 ROM...
I guess I should have a new ROM ready to go also, as I assume that once I upgrade, my current jbbl ROM wont be compatible with the new bl? Will I be prompted to flash that also? Or just do that in twrp once I boot to recovery... place my ROM in extSD...

I put a lot of effort into the behind the scenes code to make it easy to use for the users. As long as you follow the directions fully, this process should be fairly quick and painless.

Ok, one more question... the file I mentioned above... VZW_XT926_4.4.2-KDA20.62-15.1_1FF.xml, that 15 isnt the same 15 in 4.4.2.183.46.15 as in the bl is locked and I cannot unlock and root? Or since I am already unlocked and rooted Im gtg? Should I use VZW_XT926_4.4.2-KDA20.62-10.1_1FF.xml?
Thank you for your help!! Should be my last question LOL!
Never mind. I just saw this thread
and that answered that........
But the thank you still applies!!
