Tried with a 3rd file, one that I had in my file storage repository: VRZ_XT875_6.7.246.XT875.Verizon.en.US_CFC_01.xml.zip
Same thing.

it's not finding the proper xml for your image. I'd have to look at it and right now I don't have time unfortunately.

Perhaps I should extract the compressed images instead?
Posted 29 March 2018 - 08:04 AM
Nope. Lol. I didn't think that was it, but I had to try.
Posted 29 March 2018 - 08:04 AM
I'd need to see what files are in there. And what the XML looks like. HoM is claiming it can't parse it.

I think I am going to find the manual install instructions using RSD Lite and go that route. Let's see if it works.
Posted 29 March 2018 - 08:05 AM
It should. That's not too difficult.

Wow, I actually spawned it off the first time completely correctly.
But it failed flashing the cdt.bin. Which means it won't let me flash it over itself. Which means I need to play with it. I think.
I have the latest version, I'm sure of that much - 3 different latest versions lol. But it's being a PITA (and this was a heavily modified BIONIC, so it could very easily be something I had done ot it at some point or another).
Lovely how my days off turn into tinkering days, yeah?

Pull the cdt.bin out of the xml so it doesn't flash it. There may be a couple others that won't flash, too, I can't remember that far back.

Hee!
Didn't think about just pulling the damned file out lmfao....
One of the others failed to flash fb_mode, and I saw a file on XDA that had that removed, so I suppose I can just remove the files and see what happens...

That's basically what the HoB used to do. It knew what files weren't going to flash and just skipped them.

Odd that HoM is not able to read the XML when RSD Lite finds what it needs perfectly fine, though.
I also have to figure out what is going on. My phone might be screwed up - but I'm giving it my best shot regardless.
I'll also try with the mint on.
Finally - I had no idea that Sunshine was a friggin paid app - not sure if it is worth $25 for unlocking the bootloader....

I don't know if I have any of my bionic files kicking around and as I said I don't really have time to test it right now. Maybe this weekend if I get a minute I'll take a look.

I've got every single file that we ever used for all the testing and $#!+ that we did before. I never should have gone online and looked for them lol.
Here is a screenshot of my Targa storage folder:
And here is the file listing:
18.23KB 2 downloads
Which, interestingly enough, not only has the instructions that I need to manually flash (PDF) - it also has a lot of other stuff. I know I can get these phones working with completely stock JB installs....
But I cannot get them unlocked at Moto using their fastboot method, so that means I'll have to spend money in order to even make this work. Boo!

Yea, it's been a while since I've even looked at Bionic stuff.

Lol - until earlier this year, same here.

Hmmm - I should have perused my files a little bit closer.
I found the H0B files - 5 of them. Happen to remember what they actually do, or else what is required of them?
Perhaps I can use them instead lol...

Same idea as HoM.

It's a device thing, I'm sure. I might use the cdt parse tool to see if both devices are already on the latest cdt, and if so, then find the old instructions to manually flash the needed parts to have an up and running system.
At that point, though, I might have to shelve the project until later - I don't feel like paying to unlock the bootloader atm.

OK, jcase confirmed (via IRC) that Sunshine does not unlock the BIONIC.
So, safestrap is the only method to get anything other than stock - and not a lot at that - for the BIONIC.
This thing is going back into retirement. Permanently.
