2.8 RELEASED

  • More Pixels!
  • Updated platform tools to properly handle the commands required for pixel.
  • Fixed the slot commands so, you know, they actually work
  • Added an option to the update command to prevent it from wiping out the secondary slot

Ok, Pixel users, this update will now allow you to have your cake and eat it too.  What do I mean by this?  Well, you can now have different versions flashed to each slot.  For those of you who want to play with Android Pay on an unlocked device, as an example, you could have one slot total factory stock and another running elemental x kernel to make Android Pay work.  Root one partition, keep one stock.  You see where I'm going here?  PLAY TIME boys and girls!  :D

That is awesome as usual.

But just so you know (and I am sure you do), you can run Android Pay and Pokemon Go on a rooted device. You just temp un-root it, run AP, and then re-root. I do it with Tasker :)

Pay checks the bootloader as well. If it's unlocked regardless of root, it will fail.

Nope, thats not correct. I am running Pure Nexus on my NX6 which of course is unlocked. I take no credit, I followed this http://forum.xda-dev...0-aosp-t3486834and it works great. I even updated Elemental after they updated the kernel.

Enjoy!

*****EDIT: Actually, I have not yet run AP myself, only silly PGo..........so you may be correct after all :)

I see my cards, but I will try and use them this weekend...

Anyways getting back to the topic....Sam, I used 2.7 with the last update of Nougat on the NX9 and I am stuck at the Google boot logo. Nothing so far has gotten me past that...I am hoping 2.8 will fix me... :)

Any thoughts?

Did you get this fixed?  I was away for the weekend.  I'd be very curious to see the flash log that caused that cause something doesn't sound right with that.

I havent touched it yet, but can use the newest script. The flash was successful and everything looked ok from the scripts window. I first tried without wipe and then tried with wipe, both flashes were OK but I was stuck at the logo.

That definitely doesn't seem right at all.  It's not doing anything different than the flashall script that the factory image ships with, so, I've no idea what is happening there.

You can try.  I know you're on a mac, but, I have a gut feeling that you won't like.  Check to see if fastboot and adb have an update on your platform.

Was it made by Samsung?....

Sorry, had to say it...

Then it should definitely work.  Make sure to use 2.8 because I had to update the platform tools yet again.

That is indicative of a bad USB cable and/or port.  Swap to another port/cable and try again.
