Can we install SS3 on this leak?
Not as of now. It's a not so official, official update. Until somebody can create a root method for it, you're stuck on it.
Can't go back to ICS once you make the jump.

The lone candy cane floating around amongst all the jellybeans leads me to believe this was no accident.
Interesting theory, but wrong. The candy cane has been there all along in JB.

Would i have to unroot my phone before installing update?
No, but if you have voodoo root keeper, before you install the update, go in the app and click temp unroot then after update go back in and click restore root. If you fail to temp unroot, you'll lose root. Thankfully I did those steps and kept root. Some people forgot to do that and lost root

Are you sure? I've played around with the floating/flickable jelly bean quite a bit and have NEVER seen a candy cane. Not saying his theory is correct or you're wrong. I've just never personally seen it.

In voodoo b4 jb update. Temp unroot, restore root, temp unroot & finally restore root & then reboot into recovery.. update. Restore root after update & make sure SU can update & ur rooted w JB!! Good luck all. Worked on 3 Maxx's & 1 RAZR so far!!!

That worked for me too. Only thing I did different was update binaries in Superuser before backing up root.

This keeps getting confusing. You are saying to temp unroot and Matt says to keep root. We have people saying they followed his instructions to the T and it worked. Some that tried it your way and it worked and some who have failed both ways. Not griping but hoping we can get some consistency.

Well in my case I had zero issues restoring root with the voodoo root keeper app. I can only testify how I managed to keep root. I've also read how people forgot to do what I did and lost root
